At any moment, I expect a pumper to post "yeah but what if LSU loses only one game and makes the Playoffs""

The answer is: at that point, I will admit that I was wrong.

It takes effort but the miles haters do a great job at finding some new way to bitch and cry about the most successful coach in school history on a daily basis.

Do any of you wrist cutters ever get tired of dreaming up worst case scenarios and actually want to support the program?

If Miles is breaking in a new DC in 2016, IMHO, he won't be dismissed if he goes 9-3.

I hope this isn't the case. Bama is replacing their DC and I can guarantee you they won't miss a beat. They've replaced multiple OCs and haven't missed a beat. This transition year gimme is a load of crap.

LSU is my favorite college football team. I was simply pointing out that a HC breaking in a new DC will not be expected to go undefeated or win the SEC in order to keep his job.

Coach Miles is safe IMHO even if he loses three next year, as I expect he will. That's just my humble opinion. If you don't like it, too bad.

You yourself was ready to see Miles go in the waning moments of the final loss of 2015. I saw your post on here to that effect. What I'm telling you now is that you'll be happy with three losses next year, and you will accept this as a successful, but not optimal, LSU season.

The difference between LSU football and Alabama football is great at this time. I would not compare the two programs. They are not alike.

Nobody at LSU, nor most LSU fans, have the slightest desire ever to win another championship of any kind. 4th place in the west is a perfectly good place to be....forever.

Miles will probably move BDP to DC. It's already on his resume.

I don't think breaking in a new DC will have anything to do with Miles remaining next yr. should we go 10-3.

Like it or not, a coach going 122-35 with 2 NCG appearance and a NC builds up some good will. Maybe not among those who appear to be clueless as to how hard it is to maintain a program at the LSU level for 12 yrs, but among the powers that be.

Now, that good will is no doubt being strained with 8 L's in 2 yrs, but 10-3 next yr. probably gets Miles retained.

That's the problem. Not comparing us to Bama gives LM an excuse for not closing that gap. Comparing us to them gives LM an incentive to close that gap.

I would fully expect a Cubs fan to be okay with mediocrity. LSU fans? Not so much.
