If LSU had an AJ Mccarron how different would the offense look?

Maybe someone that is not as talented as Mett or Flynn but could be a true game manager and make the needed throws. Would the offense look any different or would we continue to run, run, pass, punt?

No middle of the field passing, so unless the calls change we would be worse. If they allowed short to intermediate passing and used the pass to set up the run, we would be better. This is what Miles should do, but not what he will do.

It is a legit question. Maybe not a game changer at QB but someone that can do what is needed to keep the drive alive. BH is a game changer right now but in a negative way.

Of course it would look different. We've seen our offense with a pocket passer. What our offense is missing is someone who can manage the game. Complete a short to medium pass getting the TE the ball and WR on slant routes involved. Our coaches work with what they have. I have to believe they see the same inabilities in our QBs as we do.

Outside of Mett, I don't think they do. JJ, Jennings, and now Harris. Maybe it is their evaluation of high school QBs.

This is based on 2012 data but McCarron was actually great on long throws.

I sometimes wonder if we only throw it deep because BH sucks so bad on the short and intermediate routes. Does anyone have a breakdown of his completion percentage for short/intermediate/long routes?

If you're only going to complete 50 percent of the throws at any level, might as well go long.

Not really, square peg round hole. Unless these guys practice totally different, which I highly doubt. There is no way anyone can look at the QB position and say we call plays to fit our personnel.
