If LSU gets to nine wins, Daniels will have a pretty compelling case for Heisman.

I don’t think USC or Washington end up making the playoff or anyone from the PAC12 in that matter. Daniels numbers are the best right now and if this continues there’s a very good chance we see our second Heisman in 4 years.

Numbers don't seem to matter much anymore, it seems to be a PR contest. Caleb Williams will be hard to beat, if they continue to win. I think the Washington QB might have better numbers, but no one even knows his name.

I get the glass half full outlook but beating Bama and a&m is absolutely not a guarantee.

Daniels needs to have a Heisman moment by beating Bama and sending the Team to the SEC Title game and even then hes probably going to need to beat Georgia to win the Heisman otherwise he will just be invited to New York.

If he goes 9-3 and we don't go to the SEC Championship hes not winning the Heisman unfortunately, no matter what his stats are.

Not a given bc USC is pretty average if we are being honest.

Not impressed with them at all

Has anyone seen any LSU PR for JD5 for Heisman? I remember LSU doing some stuff for Joe

I don't see voters giving anyone the award back to back. It's also very hard to see them giving it to UGA's best player...who is a TE (though he will be invited to NYC for the novelty of it).

IMO, that puts Michael Penix as the current frontrunner. That could change this week if Washington loses to Oregon. After Penix, the other hightly ranked teams Ohio State, FSU, Michigan, don't really have marquee players putting up big individual numbers. Dark horses could be Bo Nix at Oregon and Dillion Gabriel at OU

Unfortunately, Daniels is going to have to overcome LSU's (already) two losses. To do so he is going to have to continue to put up huge numbers AND almost assuredly beat Alabama and A&M (and everyone else). That would give him a spotlight game vs. UGA.

There is precedent for guys like Daniels winning the Heisman while playing on teams not really in the championship hunt: Lamar Jackson, RG3, Johnny Manziel come to mind. But he will likely have to put up some huge numbers to have a shot.

Currently he is on pace to throw for ~4,000 yards, 38 TDs, Rush for 800 yards, and 8 TDs in 12 games. If he can get a 13th game and hit the 4,000 yard (passing), 1,000 yard (rushing) while combining for over 50 TDs he is going to have a VERY strong argument.

In one respect it is a shame LSU's shitty defense is keeping his efforts from getting more notoriety. However, the irony is LSU's shitty defense is probably a big reason why he is putting up such huge stats. He has to in order to give his team any chance of winning.

They only have 3 teams in the top 10 right now.

It generally requires a powerful , well organized PR team to create a Heisman winner, no matter how good the player is.
LSU sucks at this, and Burrow won despite such help b/c of a Natty undefeated season with multiple wins against highly ranked teams.
tOSU, and UM is best this, followed by USC and Bama.
It's possible that Daniels has a chance, as fans realize just how historically horrible the House defense has been this year.

As i recall... Les carried that game plan over to the Arky game and LF only ran for 91yds. Had he gone for a 150+yds that game, he may have been back on the watch list.

I would argue that it’s more likely that 2 PAC-12 teams make the playoff than zero.

we can't lose a game like we did to ole miss. i'm not laying it on him. coaches and defense had a lot of responsibility. but we had 2 chances to win in a shootout, and as good of a game as he had, we came up short.

he has to have support, but just the same we can't lose these types of games if you want to see him win the heisman..

we'll have to win out, even with this defense and this coaching staff. as great as his stats may be, he just won't be a big enough "hero". and i understand the argument that he gave an heroic effort vs ole miss. it's a good argument, but at the end of the day his effort came up short. Burrow wouldn't have won without the team. that's just the way it is. He has 3 strikes, and 2 are gone.

Drew was the goat, but don’t think he wasn’t a product of shitty defenses too. He simply had to produce ALOT.

No? LSU routinely has top number social media interactions. I’m pretty sure Cody Worsham posts the numbers every so often.

Also just saw a stat that LSU, Ohio State, Alabama, and Colorado are the only college football teams with over 1 million followers on Instagram.
