That would be the greatest day in rant history. Everybody would get what they want.

If he wins the NC, who would want him to retire?

I don't know whether or not he will but he really should. What better way to go out? Especially given they way he was treated this year. It would be the ultimate jab to say: "hey I still have it, but now I'm leaving! See ya!"

1. Change that to when LSU wins a title this upcoming season
2. No, Les still has the fire to coach
3. No, Les is not going to give up the $$$ that he is due.
4. No, because if Harris, LF7, and all the others go pro after winning a title next season because he would still have alot talent returning and the cabinets stacked. The 2017 LSU tigers would be made up of players from a #2 class in 2014, #5 class in 2015, hopefully #1 class in 2016, and 2017 class coming in after a championship (if we when the golden pocket pussy next season). Les will want to go after another title in 2018 and 2019.
5. This ? is like beating a dead horse.

So the earliest Les will retire is when his contract is up after the 2019 (IIRC) season.

I feel like they brought in Aranda to be the coach in waiting..

He may not have any HC experience but if his D is as advertised and we have a good season next year... i wouldnt be surprised if miles retired and Aranda got a shot at HC

No he ain't retiring. He's still having fun and if he does win it all next year, he would have two-three years to do whatever he wants with the teams

Sorry but i don't feel like places like LSU are where someone goes to learn how to be a head coach. I would much rather take a guy head coaching in the Sun Belt before a Kirby Smart type. Being a head coach is nothing like being a coordinator.

I would imagine at this point he will stay until he breaks Charlie's record. He's too close not to. That, and it will allow Wilson to get enough experience to be a serious candidate for his replacement, pending Aranda's performance and potential.

Of course not. He'd renegotiate a three year guaranteed contract at about $5.5 million per year, and retire after that.

No. He'd go win another one in 2018.

I agree, however i feel like our administration would take a gamble and hire a guy like him, if we have a top 5 D next year, just to keep him. In their minds i feel like they believe he will eventually get a shot somewhere, so it might as well be here.

What has been said many times before, the only way the rant will be satisfied is to win every game (go undefeated), win the national championship (#1 in both polls), and then fire the coach (Les retires). This place would rejoice because just think about it for a second, what would people have to bitch about

You know this is the rant, right? There are plenty who would still want him gone.
