If Les were to retire after this season, would LSU still go into the abyss?

Apparently, LSU is not gonna be able to survive next season without Miles according to some people here.

So if he retired rather than being let go, are we still fricked?

Yes. Line up the dumpsters, ready the lighter fluid. Les Miles built this program from the ground up, and it will falter in his absence.

Reality smacked a lot of rantards in the face yesterday, give them a few days to adjust. They're in the denial phase of grieving right now

I don't think lsu goes into the abyss at all but y'all need to get your boy tiggerthetooth under control. Guy is in cataclysmic melt over all this.

I'm dumbfounded by this rationale and how the Milesers are POSITIVELY CONVINCED that LSU will fail simply because Miles won't be here. CONVINCED. In there eyes, LM is the absolute, one and only, end all be all that can have any success as a coach.

It's amazing to witness the posi/nega tigers do a flip flop right now.

you are oversimplifying. there are a lot of people that have not said that and still don't want him to be fired this year.

interesting question. I think the result could be the same either way. LSU sure looks better if he retires and comes up with a plausible reason for doing so (health, burnout, etc). in either event, we still have to find a new coaching staff and salvage recruiting. the risk is the same and believe me, there is MUCH RISK involved.

sorry I didn't play your clever little game.

I'd fire it up if I had something worth mentioning.

So far I don't.

Odds are that LSU will not fall apart or go on a historical run without Miles. Over the next 5-7 years the record will be within 5 wins/losses either way. But it is time for a change.
