There was probably a ton of pressure from others to go to LSU...and he did not want to deal with it...he made a mistake by misleading LSU....but things happen.

Yes...if he didn't take JJ I would still not like Kiffin bc he doesn't know when to stop running his mouth. Urban should get the apology they asked for.

After what he came out and said about Meyer (true or not) and the way he handled the Richardson situation, that's what got me hating. I hate the fact Jackson signed with UT, but it had nothing to do with Kiffin (originally). I just thought Kiffin, like any coach, tried to get a great player. After hearing his comments about he handles his business...well, I don't want to wish harm on him, just MASSIVE FAILURE for the rest of his life.

Kiffin will learn real soon what it is like to be in the SEC, way to go, pissing off two big SEC teams already. No mercy from LSU or Florida this year

I don't like the way he took an unnecessary shot at the Raiders during his introductory press conference in Knoxville. Did the Raiders organization deserve it? Probably. But that day should have been all about taking the job at UT. There was no need to crack on his former employer. So, that gave me a bad impression.

Then there is the fact he has done nothing to deserve the Tennessee job, which I feel is one of the best in the country. A few years in over his head in the NFL couldn't look that good on his resume, could it? He has no other head coaching experience. Tennessee and Auburn both got rid of proven winners to bring in recruiters.

And finally, I don't like that his biggest recruiting tool is his old man. It's like, "Play for me. My Dad is Monte Kiffin. He can turn you into Derrick Brooks." I have serious doubts the Tampa 2 defense will work for them. It's pretty complicated for kids right out of high school. Tampa Bay perfected it, but it was with a core group of guys who had played together for years. Without those guys, it may just look like a crappy zone defense in Knoxville.

Had a comment about how dysfunctional the Raiders organization is these days. It's true. But his time there was over. It was time to move on. After all, no one MADE him take the Raiders job.
