If Jones doesn’t work, O is done. That’d be his 4th hire gone after a year.

Sure hope O realizes the stakes here. There is no chance in hell that anyone would be willing to work for O if he fires his 4th out of his 5 major hires thus far within one year of the hiring.

At this point I just hope the contract of new DC is small so we don't need to pay 4m buyout like Pelini in the future.

Since he only has D2 experience as a Coordinator, can he be paid D2 scale? That way his buyout won't be an issue in December when Orgeron is canned.

It's actually worse than that:
A) Lane Kiffen - never made it to campus.
B) Joe Brady - wasn't a coordinator.
Aranda leaves, and EdO makes his 1st DC hire:
1) Pelini gone in a year.
EdO fires Cam:
2) Canada gone in a year.
3) EdO doesnt actually hire an OC, just promotes Ensminger. After Brady leaves, Ensminger gone in a year.
So you can bet your arse, that this is EdO's last hire. Because EdO will be gone in a year if never been D1 coordinators Peetz and Jones cannot compete against the likes of Fisher, Leach, Mullen, and Saban.

The only reason why Ed O hired Canada is because Lane Kiffin took the Florida Atlantic job. Then Joe Alleva told Ed O to go hire Canada. As Ed O didn't want to stand up to Joe Alleva and tell him no because Joe Alleva had just gave him the head coaching job.
The Pellini hire, in hindsight, wasn't a good hire, but Pellini's track record as a DC and a head coach were very excellent. I can understand why Ed O hired him and I know I didn't have a problem with the hire, as I thought it was a home-run hire at the time. For whatever reason, however, it just didn't work out but that's not Ed O's fault.

Worst season in 21 years and this guy hires two coordinators who have never been coordinators at this level. 
O is a recruiting and motivating mastermind, but apparently a bumbling idiot at every other aspect of coaching.
