Since we have Leonard Fournette I don't think the meltdown would be that big honestly.

The only reason I see in favor of JHill returning next year is to garner a good citizenship award to go with his all world RB credentials. I could not fault him for leaving, he performed well enough to be a high round draft pick.

I would, however, love for him to stick around another year.

Why would it be a meltdown, most people expected him to leave at end of season. I would be even more surprised if he stays versus leaving.

Right. Because dumping the guy that averaged 6.9 ypc last season and had 16 TDs would be beneficial to LSU so we could ride the unproven HS kid. Honestly, I don't think people realize just how good Hill is. he missed the opening game due to suspension and after that he had one game with 25 carries and 2 other games with 20/21 carries. If he had been utilized more he would have had close to 2000 yards. I have no doubt. By comparison Tre Mason had 114 more carries and a 5.7 ypc. If Hill had those extra carries at his same ypc he would have almost 2200 yards. Pretty ridiculous numbers.

So...

What does The Rant think? Does Jeremy stay- or does he go?

Obviously, I hope he stays another year & convinces the OLinemen to stick around with him. It would raise his draft status- and of course seeing him plowing through defenses just one more year would be so damn great....

I'm thinking he stays. What do y'all think?

what time is his press conference scheduled for today?

I vote that Hill, Collins, & Turner all come back.

Won't happen anymore for running backs. They're just not that valuable.

For the really special ones it still will. Every 3-4 years there will be a top 10 RB pick. Look at the highest paid players, and top tier RB's are up there. Guys that can prove to catch passes and pass block and play every down certainly bring more value. This LSU offense will feature those skillsets.

Having said that, I don't think Hill makes it into that conversation, but it may be possible if he has another incredible year, I just don't think he sees that type of workload.

I think Fournette has the talent to be a first round pick and will be if he stays injury free.

I'm not sure that there is a press conference, I believe he will just make his intentions know today, probably via twitter. At this point I think he stays, because there have been no reports of any talk with agents or anything to that effect; I think Collins does what Hill does, and Tuner bolts.

Collins has the most to gain if you ask me, he could easily be a top 3 LT in the draft next year, which has proven to be first round territory regardless of CBA. Turner could also gain some ground IMO. I personally think there is value being a starter on the OL at a top tier program, especially in the SEC, because it gives a great deal of exposure. He made some All-SEC lists, a strong year next year could be very beneficial. Not to mention, there is also value in being part of a great OL unit, along with outstanding RB's.

Exactly. Argument is nuts. A RB hasn't been selected in the 1st round ONCE in the history of the NFL Draft. The year before there were 3 drafted in the 1st. The days where 5-6 are drafted are almost certainly gone, but we will still see plenty of RB's go 1st round in the years to come.

Honestly, the way he is building it up with LSU fans, it is almost a slap in the face if he goes at this point. He has the talent to go, but why troll fans of your school on twitter if you are leaving?

Not saying he should or shouldn't go. But if he is going he shouldn't be doing it this way. Hope he comes back

Your comment was funny to me. The fact that you think you know something that everyone else doesn't know and try to come on here and spread it around is funny to me.

oh ok... I just know that Glenn G. posted on twitter last week that Hill will have a press conf. today... I haven't seen anything official from LSU on a presser so I doubt there will be one.
