Will CBS negotiate with ESPN to make the LSU/A&M game a 7:00 primetime game like they did in 2011 for LSU/Bama?

I don't want to hear that it can't be done due to contractual obligations. Those same obligations existed in 2011 and they made it happen.

I think the possibility is real and distinct. CBS has motivation to do this, and ESPN can be bought by giving them some future concession(s) in future years.

Sure it's a possibility

There's nothing else that can be said to improve this topic

I suppose you could say it is possible, but it won't be a 1 v 2 matchup like LSU-alabama was in 2011 and they will have had a prime time game a couple of weeks earlier. I wouldn't count on it being moved.

doubtful

the SEC slate for the weekend is pretty lackluster

Mississippi State @ Arkansas
Vanderbilt @ Tennessee
Kentucky @ #15 Georgia
#14 Missouri @ Ole Miss
#7 Texas A&M @ #6 LSU

I would imagine that CBS and ESPN probably don't have a great working relationship after the SEC network announcement. I doubt CBS would want to give up anything to ESPN when the 2:30 slot has proven already this year to be quite lucrative.

That's a pretty stinky lineup outside of LSU - A&M. The only game they'd consider is Vandy @ UT, but that'd be only for the rivalry and it wouldn't draw too many eyes.

Well one can always turn to the Alabama v. Chattanooga game.

I hope to God they put the game at 2:30 so the rant can have its precious "Thing Over Which To Melt Down Even Though It Isn't a Big Deal."

do you think it is your purpose in life to come to this message board and tell people they shouldn't be upset or complain about something because you think it is unimportant? Do you think people should have no preferences what so ever about things involving the football team they follow? Like it or not, LSU's tradition is to play home games at night and that's important to some people, if it is not important to you, that's great, but why do you care that others prefer night games, or not playing on a major holiday?

Most of LSU's games are at night.

At most, 1/24 of LSU's scheduled games will be on a major holiday.

This is the best best-case scenario possible, and this would pit 10-0 Missouri vs. 6-4 Ole Miss. LSU/A&M it is.

Does CBS have the rights to one prime time matchup a year and if so have they already chosen?

I realize for the past two years it's been LSU-Bama

CBS would not have the rights, the would have to negotiate to get it to be at night instead of 2:30.
