Good news is for those who hate Auburn is that they are highly rated this year. That portends disappointment for all barners.

It indeed could make the landscape interesting. As one poster mentioned, there's always tOSU and UM out there. Just as interesting and important to that landscape is OU vs. tOSU also. Or rather the two games combined early are interesting.

If AU has gotten Pettway (Kerryon Johnson out?) back at 100% AND IF Stidham has a very good game I give them a even to good chance of winning this.

I'll always root for SEC over ACC. I have no idea about Clemson, but I find it funny that I saw on the crawl during the UT/GT game that number 13 Auburn was their only tough game on the schedule. I assume that was after FSU lost their QB but still that says a lot about their conference. How in the hell can the reigning champion only play one mediocre sec west team and that be considered their hardest game?

Post of the year!!!

As much as I hate Bama, something about the intensity of that LSU Auburn rivalry in the 10 years from 99-08 when we broke the road game curse just can't ever be touched. No coach will ever get the blood boiling like that dick with ears Tommy fricking Tuberville.

I hope Auburn wins because it will give LSU more clout when LSU beats them at home in a few weeks. However, Stidham against very mediocre competition last week looked like crap. If Auburn is to win, Stidham is going to have to really up his game this week, but I don't know. He looked pretty damn awful last week to me.

Clemson is going to win because Jimbo said the ACC is now the premier football conference.

quote:

Speaking at ACC Media Days on Thursday, Fisher made it known his feelings on where the ACC stands. “I think we’ve established ourselves as the premier conference in college football.”

Id love AU beating Clemson from a perception standpoint. Some ACC schools are starting to gain ground recruiting SEC territory IMO.

But are they making inroads into LSU recruiting territory? What do we care if they are taking players from Florida, Georgia and Auburn?

As far as playoffs go I doubt 2 teams get in from any conference, no way the SEC champ is left out, and I doubt the ACC champ gets left out.

I'm sure the Big Ten thought that about their champion going into last year. It's strange that head to head and conference championship are both explicitly listed among the criteria but both were ignored and multiple teams from a conference is not among the criteria, but has been applied so far. On the last point, though, the only time there's been any argument for a 2nd team from one conference was last year with Penn State as conference champion, and they had two losses.

quote:

Even though in this case if bama and auburn finish with one combined loss and it's to each other it should be logical

If UF wins the east and OSU beats OU the Big 10 will try to make a case for 2 teams also though. And the media loves them some Ohio State and Michigan especially with Meyer and Harbaugh.

I think any of these as a 1-loss non-champion of a conference would have a better argument than the Big XII champion, under your scenario in which OSU beats OU, but I agree that it seems unlikely.

We recruit La, Ms, and Tx pretty hard

La: Travis Etienne to Clemson
Ms: Cam Akers to FSU
Tx: Marvin Wilson to FSU

Not just in our territory, in our signing class. 2 elite long time leans and a late instate offer we were hard after.
Just saying, these are all players not just not at LSU, but not in the SEC now. None of these are ACC states, and La/Ms is the heart of SEC territory. The hype around the ACC is real to these kids
