By no means am I saying that he will make it to MLB as a SS, but your statement is dumb.

ETA: 14/30 startin shortstops (according to baseball reference) are American born players. At least one of the foreign born ones on the B-R list has been replaced by an American born player (Aledmys Diaz -> Paul DeJong).
