If (after) the Tigers beat Bama in the BCSCG will they be the GOAT?

Will this team be the best college football team ever? I know that Miami 2001 and a couple of USC teams from the 70's are the bell cow's for that moniker now, but a lot of that has to do with the NFL talent that came from the team. LSU has only really had to sweat in one game. LSU plays in the toughest conference ever. They have beaten the best team from another conference (depending on W. Virginia's results, they may be able to say that for another conference), they will have defeated 4 top 3 teams. What other team in history would have that kind of resume'?

It's definitely hard to say that this is the GOAT in college football. Maybe the best overall season.
But I would put money on it that if Bama, USC, Ohio St, Michigan, etc. had the type of season LSU has had, the GOAT conversation would be nonstop.

Husker Nation and ESPN never stopped the GOAT talk about the 1996 team. Honestly, if we had an identifiable starting QB, it would be different. But who cares? I just want crystal football #3.

this team will never get that type of cross year recognition b/c they dont have an elite QB. and b/c this year will be perceived as weak, especially since there wont be another unbeaten team to play in the title game

Miami 01 started Ken Dorsey, who was a good college QB, but nothing more. They also played a 1 loss Nebraska in the title game.
They are regularly, and rightfully, trotted out as the best BCS champion of all time.
If this LSU team wins its remaining games history will be very kind to it. There will be no doubt that this will be the strongest resume on paper of any of the BCS champs, and it really won't be all that close.
