Love to sit here and rip Lee. The guys just a redshirt freshman and everyone expects him to be Ryan Perrilloux. Look at Tebow, Parker Wilson, and Statford, all these QB's are experienced. It’s not fun watching other teams run back his picks for td's but he's still the best LSU QB. The people who want to bash Lee are not true LSU fans in my book. You are the fans who boo your own players ,walk out of tiger stadium before the game is over, and call up after the game bitching like you were ever worth a shite in high school you f a g g o t s. I might just have to whip one your asses at the next LSU home game. We are in this situation because Les Miles threw Ryan Perrilloux off the team because LSU is all about class. When you are selfish like Perrilloux your ACTIONS affect everyone around you and that LITTLE lesson is being learned by LSU this year. Miles is playing the hand he was delt and Lee is the best we got but you can't deal with it. You pussies ain't man enough to take your losses with dignity or class like the players and coaches. Some of you must have short memories or are too young to remember when we were pumped to go the fricking Independence Bowl. We still have a shot at going to the Cotton Bowl to maybe play a Texas or Oklahoma. Maybe by then Lee might have turned the curve and we could possibly WIN that bowl game. Regardless what happens, Lee will gain valuable experience going into next season. Wilson and Statford both stuggled early in their careers and have turned out to be good long term investments for their teams. LSU fans today are all about instant gratification; they have become spoiled baby bitches, and are just short sighted from all of our recent success. It's painful to watch Lee at times but understand that Miles is doing what's in the best interest of his team by sticking with Lee.

No doubt, especially becaues he doesn't really have any other viable options.

7 returned for 6. When did the others you mentioned ever performed to that level?

I think they just expect him not to already share the career record for Pick 6's and own the season record before his first season is even over.

And at least 5 of those should have been tackled. There were only maybe 2 that were clear sailing to the endzone. You do realize that it's not against the rules to tackle someone after an interception.

Also, the int return in the Bama game went through traffic for over 50 yards.

This was supposed to be a dominant defensive team w/ the most dominant defensive line in all of football. The QB was simply supposed to be a caretaker.

Well, there have been 4 crisis games this year, AU, UF, GA, and Troy. Lee who was only supposed to have to hand off and not make mistakes was asked to go out and win those games. Well he won 2 of them. Furtermore, he will go down as the most productive freshman QB in LSU history. Again check the stats. Not that stats matter to you people.

The problem w/ this team has not been JLee. It has been the total lack of organization of our defense and the totally inappropriate scheme. I went to the UF game and have been to all but 1 home game this year. We have not been able to stop anyone. Futhermore, up until the Troy game Chad Jones was playing 25-50% o the time. The most talented guy on the team was only in for at most half the plays. Against Troy he was in for about 80% of the defensive plays and was the most dominant defensive player out there.

Against GA, yes JLee was intercepted and it was returned. Bad pass, sure. But why did we not run when the score was 0-0? Then on the next drive Jlee leads us down to score and it 7-7. So the game is tied and then our defense could not make GA punt at all in the first half.

Against UF, Lee lead a scoring drive down field w/ 45 seconds on the clock. He led another drive on the first possession of the 2nd half. The score was 20-14 and you could have heard a pin drop at the Swamp. But again we could not stop Tebow on 3rd and 3 when everyone in the stadium new he was going to run for it.

Against Bama, had one drop that killed a drive and first down, one bobble that became an interception, and one touchdown dropped.

So, everyone based on this people want to villify JLee. Well you know what Tiger Fans-You don't deserve him. He's too good for you!

Even w/ the bad breaks and mistakes, JLee will own all the freshman passing records at LSU. He also has a chance to take this team to a New Years Day bowl.

I did.

Tommy Hodson 1986

175 - 288 for 2,261 Yard and 19TD's.
Game against Ole Miss he had 39 attempts without a pick, which is good enough to place him 5th all time in that stat.
The 1986 team went 9-3, 5-1 in the SEC and won the SEC Title for the first time in 16 years.
I was unable to find any stats on how many interceptions he threw, but let's be honest...it's not close to this year.

ETA: Through 10 games:

Jarrett Lee 2008

139 - 257 for 1824 yards and 14TD's.
The 2008 team in currently 7-3 (3-3 in SEC) and will not win the SECW Title.
He has thrown 15 interceptions with 7 returned for TD's.

And keep in mind, LSU played an 11 game schedule in 1986 and went 9-2 in the regular season. In 1986, post season records did not go towards seasonal stats...so the stats you see for Hodson were ammassed in 11 games. Lee's 11th game is next Saturday against Ole Miss. Added to have an Apples to Apples comparison.
