You'd miss that nut after his offense flops against a real defense. Until he can recruit stud linemen and build a defense I don't want him

He can recruit stud linemen in louisiana.. we grow them on trees. We also grow defensive linemen on trees and guys to play in the secondary.

It's a joke to act like Kelly could not recruit La.

Damn, you know the AD at Oregon.

Talk to Oregon fans, they all have a love/hate relationship with Kelly.

No.. our special teams and defensive turnovers owned Oregon. They turned the ball over what.. 4 or 5 times? Miles had jack-shite to do with the defense creating plays.

Les had everything to do with the defense creating those plays. Les is the one recruited those players. Les is the one who hired John Chavis to put those players in position to make those plays.

Oregon is a good team and with Kelly we would never worry about QB play again. They're a rushing offense fwiw.

And as soon as Bama fed the Tigers their nuts on natl tv, everyone would be blasting the gimmiky, finesse offense.

Living in Oregon I get to hear a lot about Kelly and see the Ducks play a lot, and one thing I will say is that the guy is incredibly smart. He knows what he's doing on the offensive side. You have to keep in mind that Oregon doesn't have nearly the recruiting base that LSU does so he has to build a team out of the pieces he can get, not necessarily the pieces he would like to have.

There's a good article at Grantland on Chip where he talks about his influences and philosophy:

LINK

Not sure how he will fare in the NFL, I think he could be very successful at LSU, given the talent he would be able to get. He will never get a shot, though.

There's no stud lineman on the west coast? As long as Kelly's game plans involve not blocking good defensive lineman, his teams will struggle against the big boys.

If anything, Chip Kelly at LSU would draw in MORE offensive talent on top of all the defensive talent we're getting because of Chavis.

Chavis isn't known for his recruiting. And you think it's that much harder to recruit at Oregon than LSU?

But he's known as a badass defensive coach. What talent wouldn't want to play under one of the best defensive minds in the country?

Well, Kelly became head coach in 2009 and he has won exactly as many titles as Les Miles in that period. He's been to one NCG, same as Les, and lost it, same as Les. Of course his team lost by a couple of points on a last second field goal, not an embarrassing shutout. He's been to a BCS bowl all 4 years at Oregon. He has a better record over that time period than Les. And he's done it at a program whose last Rose Bowl win prior to his arrival was 1917.

How many title had Miles won before he came to LSU?

So you're saying that if we hired Chip Kelly we would suddenly stop getting top defensive recruits?

OMG HE RAN A CREATIVE 2 POINT CONVERSION!
Typical knee jerk message board reaction.

He's a good coach but hasn't proven he can win big boy football. Hardly worth a left nut.
