I saw a lot of deep passes and long LF runs. If we can do that in November we will be fine. We couldn't do that this past November, and I don't know how we have improved much since then.

Tech's defense is atrocious. Our offense still needs a lot of work before we can compete for an SEC or national title.

you'd be wrong for various reasons, but it was a welcomed win

This game was fools gold IMO. I don't think you can take too much from it considering how bad tech's defense is.

Cam on the sidelines and half time adjustments were what I was impressed with.

how about dos shut up.....it was Texas Tech! A varsity football vs. a damn JV team

I'm sorry you missed my point. I watch guys like you on this board indicate we need to go to the spread offense. I see people bitching about our offense and say we need an Oklahoma, tcu, Oregon, Baylor etc offense. Well, why do you think these offenses put up big numbers? why are they ranked so high? why are they so successful?

BECAUSE THEY PLAY IN A CONFERENCE WITH NO DEFENSE.

My point is. I guess if we played in a conference with Oregon, tcu, Oklahoma state, north Carolina, Baylor, etc. Our offense would look like theirs. big points, lots of yardage, and nationally ranked.

So, maybe tcu, Baylor, Oregon, offenses aren't that good after all. Maybe the spread would look like texas tech did last night in the s.e.c. Therefore, if you agree with that, then you just called yourself a dumbass for stating we need a spread offense like one of these teams.

Henry won the damn Heisman because he didn't have to play the bama defense. it's really that simple.

Wrong. For a decent portion of the season, it was. You're refusing to admit that because our offensive personnel are really good. That's a lot different than saying that our offense is good.

I'm not refusing to admit anything. What my point is, people on here have said we need a spread offense like Baylor, texas tech (hell, people wanted their coach when they thought miles was fired), Oregon, north Carolina, etc. They say ours is old school and these are new school.

well, if our offense was in the conference as those, it looks like our offense would be explosive, highly ranked too.

does it need to get better for the s.e.c., yes. do we need a Baylor, tcu, Oregon, north Carolina offense? nope.

It's apples and oranges. Those offenses look great against no defense. heck texas tech was ranked SECOND in the country. Who's offense is better? lsu put up more points, yardage, more plays of 30 yards or more, than they did. why, we play defense. image lsu facing Kansas, Kansas st., tcu, Baylor, texas tech, etc. week end and week out. lsu would average over 30 points and 400 yards of offense. They would be a top offense in the county. so, maybe it's not the offense we run, maybe it's the defenses we face.

The biggest difference was having Cam on the sidelines.

Cam needs to game day coach from the sidelines. When he sits in the booth, his head tends to get stuck in his butt too often.

We played Texas Tech.

While it was a good win to end the season on, the game was really a meaningless exhibition.

There is literally NOTHING to take away from last night other than a nice win against an average team in a bad bowl.

Link?

I almost never see this type of comment posted. Only the Cheerleaders use that as a gross overstatement to what everyone with an ounce of football knowledge have been saying about the Les Miles offense. Charles Hannagriff was listing some stats from Stanford yesterday. Not TCU, not Baylor, but Stanford. You know, the offense that the Cheerleaders try to say is the same as LSU's. Hannagriff listed the receiving stats for running backs and tight ends for Stanford. He even removed McCaffrey from some of those stats and they still dwarf LSU's stats for the same position. The "philosophy" that Miles thinks he is running isn't the problem "run oriented, ball control", it's the flat out refusal to think that passing is only necessary when it's 3rd and long or you fall behind. There has to be BALANCE, and not just lip service. Real balance that keeps the defense at least somewhat guessing as to where the ball is going.

Quit making stuff up to try and make your point. Nobody here is asking for the Baylor offense.

I think last night proved we played an inferior team.. Any time we can impose our will on a team, our offense does great. That doesn't help us playing teams of equal talent.

TT is a very bad team in the trenches, probably the worst O and D line LSU has faced in years.

I would not make any judgment positive or negative based off that game.

We Just happen to play in the strongest division of the strongest conference. Our conference specializes in defense. If we played in Big 12, A.C.C., or Pac 12, We would put up video numbers and have a top 10 offense.

Nope, we would have had a lot more trouble with Clemson, Oklahoma, FSU, West Virginia, Washington, Boston College, Utah, etc.

Get off your high horse about SEC "defense". Memphis had a field day vs Ole Miss and Texas Tech and FCS Tenn-Martin had a field day vs Arkansas. Louisville, San Jose St, Idaho, and an FCS team had a field day vs Auburn. LSU and Miss st gave up 400 yards and at least 20 points to West Kentucky, Louisiana Tech, and Texas Tech. That's just the SEC West. I don't even want to get into the East because outside of Mizzu, it's brutal.

The problem I still see with the SEC and SEC fans is that they think that they beat the worst of teams out of conference, means they can beat the best of teams.
