I think the attitude needs to change and hopefully CEO or next coach can do that

It seems like the thought process, over the past few years, for the players and recruits is, LSU is a quick path to the NFL, and that's not the attitude we want to have. I think that mind set gets the players thinking what's best for them and not the team. Hopefully CEO or the next coach can inject an attitude of winning into the program and not just developing guys for the next level. Recruits go to Alabama to win and many of them stay as long as they can so they can win as much as they can and then after it's thinking about the NFL.

I don't know just what I think from seeing the attitude around the program

I'd rather recruit studs who have a shot at the league rather than plugs who have to stay all four years just so they can go sell insurance after they graduate.

Get off MY lawn, grandpa.

Winning is a mindset. Though the mindset is not completely lost here, it was on the verge of doing so after the last five years. The Miles firing has pumped life back into the program and it gains momentum with each win.

LSU puts players in the league. You do not want to lose that identity! That is a badge of honor that trumps all other schools no matter how great they are at other things. LSU puts the most players in the league.

Recruiting allows a staff to better pinpoint the player that checks all the boxes. It's up to the player and the staff once they get on campus. Buy in or process out.

Players go to Bama to go to the NFL. Of course they would like a win a championship or two before leaving their junior year.

Look it up, Bama has early entry kids too.

This is true. It did seem though, that Miles was lately fostering a culture where the perception was, "LSU will get you to the NFL and you won't have to work so hard while there. Not much will be demanded of you."

That particular aspect needs to change.

This quick path to the NFL is what brings good players to LSU.

To expect NFL caliber players to stay their senior year and risk injury is idiocy.

The 6-foot-5, 301-pounder considered leaving for the NFL Draft last spring but decided to return for his senior season. Now he will contemplate whether to enter the 2017 NFL Draft or use his redshirt to return to LSU for another season.

Why would one forego a multimillion dollar paycheck for an extra year and risk career ending injuries to play their senior season?

If players have performed well enough to be drafted highly their JR year let them go, they've clearly provided a ton of production for the team.
