Even after 3 years, I still miss Jamarcus Russell. And despite the huge amount of excitement I have for Jordan Jefferson and Russell Shepard, every time I see him play I can't help but wish he was still our QB.

It blows my mind to think that people hated him here and wanted Matt Flynn to play ahead of him. This guy was so special and was one of the best talents to ever play at LSU.

So, who is with me??

To Jamarcus!

DP40 says he is a "dumb" football player. fwiw, and matt flynn was much smarter.

I'm with you. I think Jefferson has the potential to be very special also though.

I feel sorry for him being in Oakland. I wish he could have gone somewhere else...if it's any consolation, he basically went to the "elephant graveyard" of NFL franchises (Lion King AND chain reference)...

JaMarcus's junior year 332/342 3,129 yards 67.8% 9.15ypa 28 Tds, 8 int, 167.03 rating

Manning's junior year: 243/380 3,287 yards 63.9% 20TD 12 INT

he was great at LSU and is the only LSU QB to beat 2 top 10 teams on the road

at this point though, i miss every former good/great LSU QB. JaMarcus, Flynn, Davey, Mauck, Tyler

People wanted him out, people wanted Miles out, but when you win it cures all fickle fans. I think Russell was awesome, and like others above, really knew he was screwed when he went to Oakland. I do also look forward to this season though!

Let it go man. He can rep his home state if he wants. He still represented for LSU and in a major way. Jamarcus Flynn Why do we have to compare them anyway.

J-mac would have a ring if it weren't for Jimbo Fisher, IMHO.

yes, but why represent the home university in which you chose not to attend?

the elephant isn't a symbol of the "state".

Or he'd have a ring if he stayed for 2007. And we probably go undefeated.
