Hard to find older posts but here's some from back in the day.

Know how we're always talking about 3rd and Chavis now? Well it used to be 3rd and Jimbo. If it was third and more than about 7 then he called a play to set up the punt. Ive never seen so many up-the-gut runs on third down.

Another

not a great playcaller but very good at developing QBs

Another
quote

What was his tenure here like? Was he the scapegoat when LSU struggled? Were you guys sad to see him go?

Jimbo was frustrsting for his conservative play calling and knack for allowing defenses to shut down his NFL talent laden offenses. Good QB coach though. Few people miss him.

Again criticism goes with the territory being an OC and play caller.

No one has ever said he was perfect and above criticism but your recollection that he was run out of here is false.

There were lots of people here who wanted him to go. You can't change my memory of that.

Those are the same people that think Miles is God. They think the offensive coordinator under Miles was the problem. Look at the OC history.

Why would he want come back here. As I recall he basically got run out of town by the same group of so called fans wanting miles to go now. Same thing was said then. Offense sucks. Predictable bla bla bla. Same spew different year. Why would he come back here so you guys could bitch wine and moan about how he's not good enough....

He quit because some idiot head coach wanted to call the plays for him.

Jimbo fisher LSU 2000-2006

"Can't get posts from that time or else I would."

You can't because you weren't here when Jimbo left LSU.

You can't say that, I lurked for several years before I got an account. Then I only got one to post on the ticket exchange board because I was interested in a particular set of tickets that didn't have contact info.

Now I'm a little more active

Jimbo was roasted here for being too predictable.

If he comes and isnt trolling Alleva, it will be because its the best conference with the best facilities on the biggest stage at a university he feels love for.

But namely to prove himself head-up vs Saban on a yearly basis.

Jimbo may think the student is smarter than the teacher at this point.

(Jimbo was conservative here because he was playing for 2 of the most conservative HCs ever at the time. He runs more formations at FSU now than any other out there I believe. Upwards of 60 or so. still a Pro set with some spread tendencies but balanced as usual.)

Sure was but you'd never name an OC here who that wasnt said about. Every OC ever has heard that by its fan base.

Looking back over the past 10 years, you can't put that on the OC.

Definitely was. But he was working with what the HCs wanted. People forget but Saban used to be as bad, especially with a lead being conservative than Miles.

Almost cost us a BCSNC against Oklahoma.

because LSU is very special place, culture, SECW, passion, resources, and instate talent...the stadium for goodness sakes! Still voted #1

No head coach who left LSU who looked back thought it was a good decision.

Jimbo knows the deal...I am willing to bet money he has talked to Saban about the LSU job on a number of occasions...

So a few criticisms on a fan message board by some anonymous keyboard warriors equates to Jimbo being "run out of town"?

Damn, you're dumb.

STFU, everyone knows him and Miles didn't get along.

saban and jimbo were rumored to be not so chummy as well... jimbo doesn't seem to be a very friendly guy from the interviews i've seen of him.
