I see a lot of calls for a modern / more dynamic offense

and i still see a minority of folks in defense of this staff. I can accept that this staff may be incapable of producing a better offensive scheme and that a change is needed.

However, one that is really troublesome and is a microcosm of the much bigger issue is:

LSU cant even kickoff properly with any consistency. Its literally a free kick from a tee with no rush. Yet, it cant be done for some reason. This is a coaching problem and it starts/stops with the man in charge.

The pumpers can make excuses and say Les is an Old School offensive mind and he can adapt his offensive philosophy. What the heck is your excuse for not being able to kickoff for three consecutive seasons?

Not a well-coached team.

I would love to know if Gamble had those issues in high school.

I have no problem with our scheme.

I have terrible problems with our execution. If you are gonna be simple, you gotta be perfect in execution. That is the beauty of it...but we don't even know blocking assignments.

Yup, just have the kicker boom the ball as far as he can. If our kickoff team can't run down and make a tackle, they need to be sitting next to me. Les needs to stop overanalyzing crap and just let the kickers kick.

It's a certain philosophy that is leading to inconsistency in kickoffs.

I said yesterday that special teams play is the part where I can no longer be rational. I'm incapable of discussing it with any reason whatsoever. It boils my blood to see 25 yard kicks and kickoffs out of bounds at any school, much less one known for dominating special teams play for years.

People say stupid shite like "high school QBs make those throws all the time," but in this case, decent high school kickers around the state literally kick the ball down the middle of the field all the time, and a few kick it into the end zone on a regular basis. We kick it short and out of bounds. Besides kicking it backwards, it is hard to execute any worse.

It's universally agreed upon that Cameron and Pevito are terrible coaches.

My biggest issue may not necessarily be scheme either but its the staffs refusal to adapt or playcall it to exploit an opponents weakness.

Why.

If you took just one minute to look at film you would see that on basically every failed play, we have a missed assignment.

It really isn't hard. You just have to get past saying things like 'stacking the box' and assuming one can never run.

We are steadily becoming the worst ST playing team I have never witnessed.

there is nothing wrong with our scheme.

it could use some tweeks, like Harris from the gun more and spreading the ball around but that has nothing to do with the scheme.

our problems are much deeper. and I know of no person making excuses for Les anymore. you been under a rock?

This. There is nothing wrong with being a run heavy team. You just have to be able to use some creativity in your play calls.

There is also nothing wrong with the I formation, it's the fact that every play is so predictable

The kickoff failures are just like the offensive failures. Same shite keeps happening but there is no adjustment or change made. Just keep doing it and expecting different results.

That's an issue alright.

Les' excuse that headsets weren't working complete BS. The OC was on the sideline.

If he's not a play or two ahead in his own mind, then he's not very good. How does he think Gus is able to get plays in so quickly? 'Cause he already has a play or two in mind.

Just like chess, you gave to play a few moves ahead.

Quite a few teams still run out of the I and they do it well. Miles should be a master of it by now but we still fumble around from playcalling to execution to penalties. It's pitiful.
