PM pulled Bugg to save him for later this weekend. Should give you an idea why Latz was out there in garbage time. He's not serious about using him in actual hold situations. Sucks.

That's what frustrates me most about Mainieri. 6-4 in the 7th is garbage time to him.

Saying a 2 run game in the super regional "garbage time" is probably the dumbest words ever spoken on tiger droppings.

It's not Latz' fault. Do you expect him to say "Nah, coach, I think they're gonna rock me tonight - better ask someone else"

No, this falls squarely on Dunn and CPM not knowing he's not ready yet.

Didn't say it was Latz's fault

Latz went a year and a half without pitching. It's going to take quite a while to master all the nuances of controling his pitches, and reestablishing them once he loses command. Summer ball is when he'll do it. I expect Latz to be in a groove at the start of next season.

Next year we'll have two dominant aces, and we'll be looking for more with Mckay and Gilbert. Maybe Bain or Norman will be able to make the leap. And maybe a newcomer can step up.

This is about the most asinine thing I've ever heard..... Not saying your wrong but I'm saying it's asinine coaching.

That's PM for you. He basically forfeits a game using the bottom of his bullpen. Happens all the time when if we used the top and shut them down in this game we probably would've won. His thought is their bullpen is weak so why not keep it a strength through the entire weekend while handing CC a free win. I hate that thinking in super regional play. Give your guys a chance to win the damn game. He also left Lange in way too long but you know, Lange has shown he can get out of those situations so I can't fault him too much there.

I think Latz has a ways to go before he's considered a starter for us. Doesn't look like he has the velocity he should have on his balls. Wasn't he throwing like 93 in HS? No way is he hitting that right now. If Poche stays this pitching could be really good for us next year. Might finally have 3 legit starters.

Should have taken Lange out an inning earlier. Left Bugg in - bottom of our bullpen is not a problem. Bullpen would have been great all year if Dunn & PM were on the same wave length. Also small ball is obviously not PM's style. He should try it more often.

We were down 2, that shouln't have been garbage time. Had we stopped the bleeding at 6-4, we have a chance to go to Omaha tonight.
