He brought the NC ring in Sunday and let me try it on. Also had his Sugar Bowl watch on. What an honor it is to hear him speak of the old days.

He told me that due to an injury, he got promoted to a starter during one game. He was unhappy to get promoted and asked coach to demote him ASAP

The bandits were superstars apparently

Aunt Esther was so ugly she went to a haunted house and came out with an application.

Didn't Lionel become an "eletical ntaneer"?????

He was a great ine. I was an eleven year old listening on the radio and I can still hear his name being called over and over again. I know he was never in the size range we see today on the line.

One of the Lionels is dead but I'll be damned if I can ever remember which one...

And when Fred and Aunt Esther would get in insult matches with each other, that was some of the funniest TV I have ever seen...

Just joined a new church here in Texarkana. Tommy Lott is a member and it was a true honor to meet the man. He told me his NC ring was in a safety deposit box. BTW, it looks like he could still play! Super nice man.
Did you get his take on the Sidney Williams boycott? I've always wondered if any of the guys on that team ended up feeling bad. LINK

that wasn't actually an LSU thing, but a Louisiana order. That's why LSU's baseball team in 1961 didn't play in the NCAA tournament as SEC Champ.

The LSU team could have spoken out. To my knowledge, they did not. I was curious if any of the CB's have a take on that this many years on.
