Did I miss something or was not a single questioned raised about the defense and what will be done to correct it moving forward? Strange in my opinion.

I think when the starting QB is hurt and his backups are true freshmen, everything else gets lost.

And what would he have said this week that he didn’t say last week?

Fair enough and that quite possibly could be the case. With that said, if asked the question (about the defense), he could have elaborated further on additional improvements that have been made since the Missouri loss and what they will continue to work on this week, precisely as he stated for such offensive improvements (goal line plays, 3rd down woes etc...)

A little trinket I heard that was super easy to miss.

Coach O said “What we tell them, How we tell them.

In reference to communicating with the kids. Almost sounds like a subtle hint about Bo not being a Dick.

I took that as how the defensive play would be communicated. I think they said there was trouble in getting the right calls and everybody being on the same page.
But I could see your interpretation being correct too.

I think he meant “Bo, you shouldn’t be a dick”

You bring up a great point! All of these young men on defense are used to the Dave Aranda cerebral, low-toned approach to coaching vs. Bo Pelini who has always been known as a get in your face, wild man kinda' coach. This well could be part of the problem....

Everything about Pelini is obsolete. We pulled him out of the trash bin for fricks sake.

A lot of grasping for straws in this thread with the Pelini being to much of a mean boy to the players. O was simply stating the way the defensive call (and in this instance, an audible) is relayed from the sidelines to the field.

O spoke at length about how on one particular busted play an audible was called but not every player on the field got the change in playcall.

IMO, the entire show should have been about the defense. We have the worst defense in the country and a DC that is clueless on how to solve the problem. I realize QB play is important, but it can't possibly be more urgent than fixing an entire defensive unit that got smoked by MSU and Missouri!

So exactly how many “bad games” will it take before you feel the plug needs to be pulled on Pelini???
