If there is one player I wouldn't have bunted in that situation it's Hale. But I still would have bunted him.

Broussard didn't have much left and were going to have to rely on someone like Faucheaux to hold them in a tie game. We couldn't afford to play for a tie in that situation.

It seems to me we guess at a lot of pitches. (ie sitting dead fastball late in counts). Also sometimes you are not trying to drive the ball. If you have a guy on 3rd with less than 2 outs in a tie/end game situation you are looking for somthing up so you can get a fly ball. This weekend I can think of 3 cases where we swung at balls down in the zone early in counts. That is not a good approach.

I think we had a better chance of scoring one and then getting another later and holding them than scoring 2 in the ninth. But that's just me.

Thanks for putting this together; although i disagree with your premise because the differences are miniscule, i appreciate you putting it together.

I disagree. I don't think we guess or sit on enough pitches. We are too defensive early in counts. I just disagree that it has been a consistent problem before this year, and I disagree about who is to blame for it.

Thought we were talking about football.

Realized it was baseball.

Stopped reading.

I would be curious to see Kentucky's home and road splits.

Since I was curious I decided to do a quick calculation:

Home: 313-925 (.338 BA), 250 R (9.6/game), 30 HR (1.15/game)
Road: 193-736 (.262 BA), 131 R (6.2/game), 19 HR (0.9/game)

Does anyone else think Robertson looks like the world's tallest Midget? His head shape and arm length makes him look like a reall really tall midget to me

Interesting. Definite home field advantage. I'm sure every team in the SEC would hit considerably worse on the road than at home, but that is a huge drop in average, obviously. Surprisingly, I thought there'd be a bigger difference in HRs.

We're not much better with our splits.

Home: 313-1054 (.296 BA), 17 HR
Away: 124-543 (.228 BA), 7 HR

I would take 15 Tyler Hanover's if they could all hit for average (260+) and have a better average w/ RISP. There is no excuse for not driving in a run when you have 1st and third with no outs. Also, I don't care how good a player's glove is, if he is hitting sub 200 at this point in the year, he should be benched for someone with better offensive production. I still think this team can be a national contender, but they have to get hot in the next couple weeks and into the SEC tourney.

Well I knew we couldn't hit no matter where we play. I like you though expected Kentucky to have about twice as many homers at home.
