There is a huge difference between Pro Style offense and what LSU has run under Miles, what we ran under Miles wasn't remotely close to Pro Style, that was just run, run, pass, punt. A Pro Style offense could definitely work if it is run correctly. You don't have to run the spread to be an effective offense.

Call me crazy, but I'd like for my team's head coach to have an offensive philosophy/identity in mind for his program and to hire a coordinator who can implement it and run it.

Think he may be saying that to keep Brennan in the fold...

I think ... Wait a second ... Chark just ran back and forth in front of my computer screen four times and I had to move a pile of shite from the left side of my desk to the right side ... Anyway, what's the problem with Canada?

Ed said he learned a lesson in micromanaging from his days at Ole Miss but this smacks of exactly what got him fired there

so much for Ed 2."O"

I respect him for listening and doing something about it.

What are the rumors? Canada wanted up tempo, 4 WR sets, and Brennan. Did any of those happen even after Troy at the rate Canada wanted? Hell no. So there was compromise. And O wasn't wrong. We didn't have the numbers for those things and with a hurt line like we had, Brennan would have been killed vs UF and AU.

I would like to think that a HC of a major program would at least know what type of offense he would like his coordinator to run. I mean that's not asking for too much right?

as long as we start throwing to the TE more and throw a bunch of underneath routes, I'm cool with it.

Agreed, especially with the favorable TE matchups possible with Moreau and Moss out there. Also CEH out of the backfield could yield some explosive plays.

And with a fullback. IMO if he does that we go back to square one and he is on a fast track out the door. Btw this is coming from mike detillier a close friend of O. What are your thoughts?

Personally, I think it will be a big setback for LSU when/if Matt Canada leaves and Coach O goes with this type of offense. He says he wants to do what USC did...well, that's fine if you have the personnel to do it, like Matt Leinart, Reggie Bush, etc. But what if you don't?

Do we know for a fact Canada wanted Brennan?

Maybe it’s just me, but I trust the opinion of the proven offensive mind, not the d line coach who begged for the head coach job and negotiated a buyout instead of his salary.

And there's the rub.

One of his quotes upon getting the OM job was that he wanted to get a Reggie Bush type of back. Who the hell doesn't?

These threads are hilarious.

Some moron calls into a radio show and makes some dumbass statement he read on tRant. Then the same morons come here and work themselves into a lather about what they think it means.

So O is going to go back to boring, ineffective offense like Chizik did in 2012. God damn

TH, you know things aren't so black and white so I don't know why you build that strawman.

play calling is the crux of the prior issues, you can still do a lot of things from a pro set that we didn't do under Les
