lol

Amazing? He just caught the ball. I guess managing to focus on the ball amidst Robinson's spazfest was sort of impressive.

Really brave of you to criticize a player behind a wall of Natty Lite cans from the safety of your Barco Lounger.

Gray, if you look at my posts, you'd know I'm not a guy that bashes players or coaches.

My criticism of Mills last year had nothing to do with his PLAY, but his attitude that was not helpful or constructive for a D that was struggling. That attitude was made clear by his repeated childish antics every time a big play was given up (again, it was often), many of which he played a part in giving up.

This had gone on for weeks, and I finally started a thread after the Georgia game when it became so obnoxious I felt it deserved a comment.

I support our players and coaches as much as anyone, but that was a constructive criticism of Mills that he appears to have learned from, though I'm positive it was from the coaches and perhaps his teammates, not my thread

Aha, thank you.

Watched this game with immediate family/mom's parents at their house the past 5-6 years. Often a disappointing game against an inferior opponent. Don't mind switching to a quality opponent in aTm. Although I hope it's on Saturday night when they play in Death Valley.

I was very critical of Mills last year and started a thread criticizing his constant complaining and flailing about every time there was a breakdown in the secondary (which was often). So I feel I owe it to him to start a thread now praising him for doing the exact opposite on Saturday.

I used Mills as a good example of the difference in freshmen and juniors/seniors. Mills got his arse smoked for the game winner against Bama as a freshman and looked like a crybaby last year as a soph. This year as a junior he looks like the elder statesman for this squad he needs to be and has made some critical plays in the process.

Mother fricking THIS! First thing I notices was Mills fricking dogging it and giving up letting the wr walk in for the td. In case you guys are dumb, Mills was supposed to be there for help on the play.

I hesitated to start this thread because I just knew some dumbass would turn it into this.

I've rewatched the game, and that play in particular multiple times. Mills wasn't "dogging it".

He clearly was in full sprint catching up and turned back to look for the ball at around the 20 yard line.

When he turns back around, RR and Coates were tangled up fighting for the ball and Mills kind of hesitates because he doesn't seem to know who has it.

He sees Coates made the catch clean at about the 8, and at that point RR is kind of between him and Coates, and it looks like he tries to come around the other side, probably to try to strip the ball, but at that point Coates and RR are both rolling over in to the end zone so he kind of pulls up at around the 2 or 3 as the play is over.

And of course all of this happens in about 1 second flat, but I'm sure all these badass Madden All Stars could have brought down Coates' 6-2 200 pound body and stripped the ball and taken it back 99 for TD!!!

Bunch of beast mode cowboys in this place

Was it great leadership when Mills was jogging on that play?

Add these two badasses to the Madden All Star team

Come on now.

That was terrible. I still am not sure how he couldn't manage to knock that ball down.

Not sure why he was on the outside of the receiver either. He didn't have safety help.

no, it's actually not. robinson is the best cornerback on the team. I don't know how he didn't defend that pass since he is typically lockdown.

bullshite pumped. You said it in your babbling. He HESITATED. it was clear as day and it let the wr walk in. He should have been as deep as them anyway. You started this thread to defend him, it's obvious.

You do NOT pull up in that instance. What if the ball would have been tipped. His pulling up/hesitating is exactly why the defense is struggling. Everyone else thinking everyone else will make a play.

FYI, 1 second of hesitation is about 9 yds at these guy's speed. So get outta here with that crap.

Add GEEOH to the All Star team.

That's the whole point All Star. Pretending like he was "dogging it" because he didn't make the right decision in less than a split second is just fricking stupid.

As for starting this thread to "defend" him, have I missed a bunch of threads criticizing Mills for this play??? Why defend something that isn't being attacked?

And you can search my post history for the thread I started criticizing his attitude last year after Georgia.

In this case I honestly think he deserves credit for being a good teammate after Rashard was posterized, and think it's a good example for the team going forward.

I have no idea what you're talking about.

You're added to the list of Rant All Stars whose athletic prowess allow them to criticize players for not making plays because of idiotic comments like this:

Get it now All Star??? You're a certified beast mode cowboy!! Take notes Mills! GEEOH is gonna show you how it's done!!

Rashard wasn't posterized, he was at least making a play on the ball and receiver, Mills is the one EVERYBODY saw laying back.

Your thread is a fail and Mills did not finish his responsibility on the play. It's obviou to everyone but you.

I don't think you understand the meaning of the word. It's almost always a player trying to make a play that gets "posterized" when the opposition simply makes a better play. It's the image itself, not the effort, that is the point.

Michael Jordan made a living "posterizing" players hustling their asses off to stop him that simply couldn't do it. Rashard made a hell of a play, but that didn't stop Coates from sending him head over heels into the end zone as he celebrated the touchdown. Hence, "posterized".

There's like 3 of you here criticizing Mills, and about 15 here agreeing with my OP.

It's obvious to the majority other than you.

my comment was basically me being surprised that RR didn't defend that pass because he's been AWESOME in coverage so far in his LSU career.
