I bet $500,000 Miles is not playing favorite. END OF DISCUSSION.

He might be wrong in choosing which qb gives LSU the best chance to win... though i highly doubt it with Miles history of winning big games.

quote:

Entering his seventh season as the Tigers' head coach, Miles will not receive a raise on his annual salary of $3.751 million, but new provisions provide for a 75 percent potential increase in incentive-based earnings. Miles will have the ability to earn $100,000 if LSU reaches the SEC championship game, an additional $100,000 if the Tigers win the SEC title and the same amount for a non-BCS bowl appearance. Also, an appearance in any BCS bowl, including the championship game, will net Miles $200,000 under the restructured terms, and a victory in the BCS championship game would bring an additional $100,000.

Seriously for 500K, Miles would bench his own kid.

Doesn't he have a clause that says if he wins another NC, has to be the highest paid coach. Thought i read something like that.

I don't think that he's playing favorites, but I wouldn't call that "definite proof".

Well, you already started one thread telling why he was the starter, and now this one. Maybe you can give us a 3rd reason in another thread.

He was only wrong in starting Lee against Bama. But he really had no choice. I'm certain he won't make that mistake again. I'm thinking this might be JJ's team going forward. Which is exactly what it was before the season. Why this upsets so many LSU fans, I'll never understand.

Yes, highest paid coach in the SEC.

quote:

The current provision remains in place that if LSU wins a national football championship, Miles' pay will grow to $1,000 more than the highest paid football coach in the Southeastern Conference. The contract will run through 2017.

That means he's still gonna get paid a lot less than Mack Brown.

The feel good story should be JJ's comeback and redemption, no?

if that is the case, 500K is chump change.

[quote]Nick Saban, Alabama Saban won a national championship at Louisiana State in 2003 before moving to Alabama, where the Crimson Tide won a 2009 national title. He's not only the highest-paid coach in the SEC, but in the country, pulling down a base salary of $5,166,666. Non-university compensation amounts to $830,683 for a total of nearly $6 million. Bonuses potentially add another $700,000. Read more: What Are the Salaries of the Southeastern Conference Football Coaches? | eHow.com LINK ]

500K plus another 1.5 million in compensation.
So by playing favorite, Miles can cost himself 2 million bucks.
