all personalities are a reflection of a person's nurturing.
haters learn hate from their parents.
be grateful if you are positive, and have compassion for the unhappy!

pray for everyone! be grateful for the positive posters and have compassion for the negatives (because they can never change!)

they believe they are helping lsu by being critical because their parents never supported them w/ love, but criticized them because of their own unhappiness!

Why do you think he's a negatiger?

Agree with those who associate positiger attitudes with having followed the team through many lean years. indirectly, I think age is a factor - only the older fans have that perspective and are more likely to be positigers. Younger fans are more inclined to think LSU's recent winning seasons are the most appropriate baseline from which to judge.

I have attributes of both of OP's categories (LSU grad, but didn't grow up in an LSU family or follow as a kid), and I'd label myself a positiger. I'll admit when there are problems, but I try not to overreact to losses, and try to look on the bright side.

In my quest to understand this whole issue, I have come to understand that positigers are generally very realistic about problems with LSU football, but simply choose to be positive about it.

On the other hand, negatigers seem to be unrealistic (dramatic and exaggerating) and choose to dwell incessantly on every negative detail.

I kinda disagree with your theory. I am an LSU alum , donor, supporter of it all. I like our coach. I think people on these boards sometimes think in black & white / For or against. I have a history of supporting Miles and agreeing with his overall leadership but today I made one single criticism about one aspect of his coaching history/performance and I was slammed for being a negatiger. Most ridiculous shite ever.

This "if you don't agree with me 100% you're an uneducated fake fan" crap has to go. There is always common ground.

Sounds about right for me. If it helps, I'm 24. A big reason why I'm a positiger is because of the football teams in North Carolina that I grew up around, which were usually bad. Helped me appreciate what we have here at LSU.

Positigers: Attended/graduated from LSU. Grew up in a family that loved LSU. Followed LSU football as a kid. Loves and/or played the game of football. Negatigers: Did not attend LSU or attended some other University. Have become a fan later in life. Didn't grow up in an LSU family. Are simply trolls (perhaps from other schools) who pretend to love LSU.

I have been accused of being both. Right nowe, I'm more negatiger because I think we're completely blowing our chance at a 2015 national championship by playing a D-II QB over a guy who could end up in the Rohan Davey/JaMarcus Russell/Tommy Hodson echelon of great Tiger QBs.

I attended and graduated from LSU. I did not grow up in a family that loved LSU (but now does) nor did I follow LSU as a kid. I played football at a division 1 school but not on LSU's level and decided not to walk on at LSU when I transferred.

This Posi/Nega stuff is total BS. I have been a devoted fan / season ticket holder since I attended LSU back in the early 90's I have been through the very thin times as well as this "Golden Age" of LSU football (current status).

LSU was horrible when I was at LSU (Mike Archer to Curley Hallman). We were bad and I said so back then. My problem is that CLM had a very conservative approach. I am often at odds with his decisions (play calling, personnel groups, who we redshirt, clock management, etc.).

That said, when we play well I give them credit. When they play like shite, I say so. I have some friends that are 100% posi. They are near impossible to even have a conversation with about LSU football. Everything is a conspiracy theory why or how we didn't achieve. It can never be anyones fault (coaches or players) in their eyes. They are consumed by their purple and gold vision.

So because I am a realist I love LSU less than the Posi's? bullshite!!!

I know a lot about football. I am a football coach. I see things for exactly what they are. You either get the job done or you don't. There is no gray area - coaches and players alike.

Put me in whatever category you like. I am a realist. I won't back down from being such or apologize. That is how I am wired.

I'm an LSU graduate, and I've found myself being critical of Les at times. I have friends that have never been in an LSU classroom that will defend Les to the death.

My biggest gripe is the posters who flip flop all over the place depending on how LSU looked in the last game or three.

The ones that in preseason predict 15-0 and say LSU will beat say Wisconsin by 40 points and MSU by 35 then turn around after the two losses and think LSU will not qualify for a bowl and that Miles needs to be fired immediately.

I think we all look at LSU and think we know them well. In fact we know them better than most analysts, but we forget that their is an opponent that we don't know as well playing the Tigers. We kicked their butts or we gave that one away scenario.

I don't mind some inconsistency in the posters because we all see regression or improvement in the team in various aspects of their play. However the radical bipolar type posters are hard to take...and I will include the extreme consistent positive and negative ones as well. These people are clueless to me.

just to be clear then, you don't think there are fans consumed by their distaste for Les Miles, and thus spin every outcome negatively?

I find it just the opposite. From the "positigers" i have encountered they, for the most part seem delusional, angry, judgmental and quite frankly ignorant. They also seem to have nothing better to do than to sit by their computer all day just waiting to attack and belittle a common sense or what they perceive to be negative comment. I have huge problems with Miles at times and at times, I do not. In any event, Miles and this LSU team always have my full support, so please do not try and label me. BTW, I grew up on the LSU lakes, went to U -High and attended LSU... Theory busted.
