I fear this team becoming divided, and with all their potential, still faltering down the stretch. From the Pollack comments, etc, the booing from the fan base, I hope this isn't the case. I just have a feeling of potential disaster.

Which is disappointing because this is the best team we have had in the past 3 seasons in all aspects, except one.

Do division on this team...let's quit talking about it.

Hard to explain really.

Possibly the D becoming impatient with the O.

The receivers bailing on the QB.

Offense losing faith in playcalling.

Reasons such as those. And it is just a fear- I could be totally off base, and hope I am. Funny thing is, I figured this team would be cohesive, hungry, aggressive, and just excited to play ball before the season started. They so far appear to be all of these things, but it is the negativity surrounding them that concerns me as well.

Good God

The offense can't get that much worse and I promise you the defense under Chavis will continue to bring the pain no matter what the record is.

This over-dramatic bs that is based off of nothing more than what peoples' gut tells them is really starting to get old.

Man! There's a lot of anticipatory anxiety on this board.

Good thing I didn't pass it off as fact then and clearly stated it was a feeling.

Was the 2008 team divided?

It was an afterthought until I read the thread about Pollack's comments (which we'll never know if there are truth to them or not).

Basically eluded to what I posted.

At the very least, Demetrius Byrd called out Jarrett Lee in the media, and the team flat out quit the last two games of the season.

Look some things are not going the way the team wants but they are still teammates. They'll fight through it together.

I was never in the locker room of course, but I would put money that there were very real rifts in the team in 2008.
Lee was having interception troubles and everybody wanted to give JJ a try. But Miles stuck with Lee and wouldn't give JJ any meaningful snaps. Dollars to doughnuts there were locker room rumblings about Miles being a racist keeping the bad white kid in and not giving the black kid his chance (there were plenty of posts to that effect here!). The play on the field certainly made it look like players were pissed at each other.
In the final analysis, it would have been much better for Lee if Miles had given JJ some real playing time in 2008. Miles thought he was giving support to his QB (Lee), but in reality he only increased the divisions and the preasure on Lee. If the fans (and the team) could see with thier own eyes that JJ wasn't ready and Lee was the best option, he would have had more support from the team and the fans.
And Miles is doing the same thing to JJ this year. If Lee got some real playing time, that would take preasure off of JJ, and if Lee was as bad as JJ then people would be more accepting of JJ's limitations.
Miles might be worried about creating a QB controversy, and maybe that is why he doesn't want Lee to play. But the controversy is here.

And how is it you "promise" this? It may be "over-dramatic bs that is based off of nothing more than what your gut tells you."

In this case "his promise" is merely extrapolation of the statistics from the first 4 games. This is not just dramatic BS - the D is playing lights out already and if we agree that all aspects improve as the year continues , the D can only become a frightening unit.

I fear that the fanbase can shoulder a portion of this blame if it's true.

doesn't matter. they are inevitable. they assume a life of their own. no man can stop a quarterback controversy except the starting qb. and that's by playing well. if fact, as you point out, efforts to stop a qb controversy can actually magnify them.
