The LSU fans that want Miles to stay, in addition to being few and far between, are not the ones with hateful rhetoric and vitriolic statements. On the rare occasion I see someone say they want to keep Miles, I see how quickly they are attacked and belittled. Do you not see that?

How many people that support Miles would do so on this board now? I'm not even sure why I'm here to talk to a deaf audience.

I hear, and agree with, the gripes about the offense. I disagree that the solution is to fire the most successful coach in LSU history.

Decisions will be made and I will love Les and the Tigers after they part ways. I will support the new coach as much as Les. I will be quite disappointed if he's a bust, knowing what we already had.

So your contention is that Miles won't get a job at a power 5 unless it is at 2 mil or less per year? Bookmarked and we shall see.

I do. Most of the time, the only people that like change are wet babies.

I think that a lot of them have become so invested in defending him over the years, now that the end is near, they don't quite know how to disengage from that mode without losing face. Two or three of his most vociferous defenders in this board come immediately to mind.

OP's point is valid. In the past, the group to which he refers would bully the Miles critics and call them "NegaTigers", among other more rude names. The opposite of NegaTiger is PosiTiger, so, the violent Miles-pumpers were called PosiTigers, even though that name is not descriptive. They were and are Fanatical Miles Supporters Willing to Personally Attack any Miles critics.

The good thing is that, whether we call them PosiTigers or some more descriptive name, they are now virtually extinct.

No. I haven't seen that around here since the most recent loss.

Maybe you are too sensitive?

They should do so, because, I don't think that they will be attacked. It's not a crazy lunatic opinion to have -- keep Coach Miles and give him a chance to make the changes. Somebody with the opposite view might say you are wrong and it's time for a change. I haven't seen much internet bullying around here for liking Miles and wanting to keep him.

There MIGHT NOT be a suitable replacement available right now! Coach Miles's services may be needed for next season!
I hope everybody realizes this, because it's the truth.

well, no other fan base wants him that I've heard of.

I absolutely love Les as a person, but this here has been my sticking point on him as a coach for years.

Make it rain white hats onto the field as he walks off tomorrow. Let him feel our love. It's been a good 11 years, but it is over. It is time for LSU to write another football chapter and for Les to do the same with his life.

I don't think we can keep him, and I think Jimbo would be a great hire, so I'm not seeing what I would have to be sensitive about.

You also called the Miles supporters Internet bullies in the previous post, so perhaps you are the sensitive one.

I don't think any have said he's the greatest coach. I think in all fairness to him, he should be given another year.

A short 3 weeks ago, all was fine. Then the end of the world happened and we lost yet again to Alabama. The following week, at home against Arkansas, you would've thought the season was over by the crowd on campus and the way the crowd was at the start of the game. Last week, Scott Rabalais writes a column saying Coach Miles is "coaching for his job". The rest of the sports media pounced on it. Suddenly, there's blood in the water and the sharks are circling. It seems a bit of an overkill to correct a problem.

If he were an inexperienced coach or one who had never been successful at LSU, sure, replace him and move on. But that's not the case here. I feel he has earned the respect and deserves one more season.

My real problem is who do you realistically expect to replace him? Say what you want about LSU being a dream job and it may be...for lesser coaches. Well established, highly successful coaches might question coming to a school where winning conference titles, a national championship and never have a losing season will get you fired.

I'll support the Tigers but the next coach will have to earn the fans respect on the field. God help him if he losses the game on Nov. 5, 2016!

There seems to be one measuring stick - the success of Saban at Bama. Just because our former coach is having that level of success there does not mean he would have had it here. In fact, he didn't. He has similar success to Miles.

If Saban had not taken Bama where he has, we would not be talking about Miles' job.

Cloned Saban at LSU would not be better than Saban at Bama. He might do better than Miles, but not by much.

That is just naive. If Saban had not taken the Bama job, Miles would've been fired and replaced long ago.

No. I spent a career in the US Army during wartime as an Airborne-qualified Officer with jump-status years at Fort Bragg. I'm probably not sensitive.

The Miles-Pumpers? Yes, they are extinct now. However, during their Reign around here, they were too often hateful bullies.

I don't remember whether we can count you in that extinct group or not, but, too many of the Miles-Pumpers were a bunch of cowardly internet bullies. I hate bullies. I have always challenged and fought bullies of all kinds and in all places, just like the US Army.

I'm glad they are beaten and gone. I hope they never return. This is a good day for LSU football.

Having said all of that, it would be a very good thing if the different factions around here could make the discourse a bit more civil.
