Never understood why they stopped this. The players loved it. A lot of the fans loved seeing the players so pumped.

But I guess too many people were yelling for the kids to get off their yard.

Yeah, and I'm an old geezer myself. It doesn't have to be for every kickoff, but the song was good for opening kickoffs and maybe after big scores.

DFell is a Florida fan now. I don't think he should be allowed to post on the Rant.

For those there early this Saturday...the PA guys were playing classic rock for a large portion of early warm-ups...

They played the long arse version of Foghat's Slowride...

LINK

shite...they even played a shitty live version of Men at Work's Down Under. What in the actual hell?

You could literally see the players wanting to be anywhere but stuck on the field going through warm-ups.

They suddenly switched over to Top 40 type hip-hop and pop...boom, everyone woke up.

For the love of Mike the Tiger Tiger Stadium sound crew...stop trying to make our guys want to leave the field. Quit playing music you think middle aged white people want to hear (I'm 45 and I don't want to hear Foghat in Tiger Stadium) and play stuff that gets the players excited and pumped up.

I think LSU went out of their way to not create a homefield advantage using the PA. I noticed many of the pregame songs were different than normal. No "Callin Baton Rouge", no "Louisiana Saturday Night". They even refused to show the band intro video, which I really don't think would have offended USC fans. LSU chose to not play music while LSU was on defense, or anything between kickoffs that would have got the energy level of the crowd going. Basically, it was up to the LSU band and the home crowd to supply all of the atmosphere.

Pissed me off from the beginning that they stopped. Got the players and the stadium so jacked. Not saying our coverage is as bad as it is because the song isn't played anymore but it sure doesn't help anything.

1) If you need a song about pop goes the weasel to do your assignment you have problems.
2) How do we convince Ole Miss and Alabama to play this song? Maybe Alleva should ask them.

This I ALMOST understood...we were treating it like a SC home game after all.

But these guys have been known in the past to do this sort of thing and played stuff aimed at who they think is in the Club Seats instead of on the field. A few years ago it had become an issue.

Like I said...the music isn't for me. I'm not running to download the new Flo-Rida but if it makes Jamal Adams dance and therefore go and lay some fool out, then play that shite...and leave the REO Speedwagon for the tailgates.

Was that song popular anywhere other than Louisiana? It's horrible.
