I've used iMovie. But I'm not professional. There are much better programs.

I have the windows 7 version of windows movie maker but I'm sure there is better out there

unless you want to do color correction, there is no real point in using something else.
i started with that, then moved to power director around 2008 and now premiere pro for the last 6 months or so.
still use power director for certain things.
while you will be limited,i don't see the point in going out and buying premiere pro or sony vegas.
plus the learning curve is huge compared to wmm.
i didn't have a clue what to do with premiere pro when i first used it.
i made enter sandman on wmm using hd on a pentium 4 with a gig of ram.
now that was a challenge.
you'll be fine.

Thanks Bonstonker you are who I hoped would answer this thread cause you videos are works of art. I guess I just need to work with it more to learn it.
I am trying to figure out how to take audio from one video and add it over another video clip.

if there is no video/audio split function, just use a mp3 audio recorder.should be able to find a free one.
record the audio, then add to the timeline and mute the video.assuming it has more than 1 audio track.
if not, complete the video and then edit that video and you can add the audio.
