You have to pick up a few of these guys and hope they may slip some in draft or they may want to come to college and raise their stock if they slip to 3rd rd or later. You can say ski on them but the second LSU doesn't go after a player like skyler Trahan that is in your back yard and he slips or decides he would like to play at the college level the coach is a moron it's basically a no win situation you sign them not fully expecting them to end up on college but you hope

Von Rosenberg has been horrible. wouldnt be surprised if he is out of baseball in the next few years.

Gausman was 6th round, he came here.

Jacoby was somewhere decent, came here.

There are plenty that have turned down a decent offer. Do you really expect Zach Lee to turn down 5 million fricking dollars? Seriously?

He has good stuff with a damn good BB/K ratio.....His ERA was inflated last year but his WHIP was 1.3 ish....which for his first full year in A seems pretty OK to me.

To say he will be out of baseball in the new few years to me is probably not accurate.....unless he had an injury or something I'm not aware of. Those are all last years number he only has 2 starts this year that I can see.

If they had more scholarships to work with it would help lessen the blow of losing talent, or maybe a early signing period for the MLB- I think there could more standstill contracts to let players go to college to develop but still get there money promised after there junior year. This will never happen though

It can happen, I never said it couldn't, not sure where I would have said that.

They will just end up having luxury tax penalties in the end.

correct. They are on pace, with the Gallo signing, to be over it but only by less than 5% so no draft picks will be taken only luxury taxes

Try and lobby MLB to have the same rule as football. Has to be 3 years removed from high school.

But yeah, I know that's never gonna happen. So just enjoy college baseball for what it is: sub-quality minor league baseball with a collegiate association.

forgive me if this has already been mentioned, but have any of the HS players that committed to LSU this year that were just drafted make their decision whether to go pro or come to school?

Skip lost his fair share every year which was a knock on him. Lsu sells itself to the best kids and with that you will lose players to mlb long the way. You have to accept those verbals. They are too good to pass up.

It really just comes down to LSU gets commits from some of the most talented kids out there. When the money comes calling, they naturally take it. Realistically, we need to start paying more attention to the kids who are likely to make that jump, pass on them and get the kid who is not quite as talented but will actually be on the opening day roster.

ding ding ding

We have a winner. Great recruiting hauls mean nothing if they don't ever make it to campus

LSU is a great program to use as leverage when negotiating their contract.
