In what way?
It's opelika. Auburn, Subway, Wendys, Hampton Inn, camping.

The Knight's Inn in Opelika is the shittiest hotel on the planet.

Opelika is actually pretty nice. I stopped there on the way home from Atlanta two weekends ago. I just stopped at the little shell station/subway off exit 58. That little area has pretty much whatever: fast food places, probably restaurants like chills, a shopping center and stuff. It seemed nice to me

We are staying at the hotel at the Robert Trent Jones course. Stayed there in 2002. It was nice for Opelika.

It's a good area. Mostly everyone I saw there had teeth. Except TTstowel

Anniston area is nicer.

Their county hail isn't half bad. Pretty comfortble holding area.
<----got arrested there buying beer at 18. Unlike Louisiana they bring you to jail for that in Alabama

we're looking for hot chicks and great drink specials...not a cheap Italian sub and semi-clean restrooms.

It's pretty good, especially if you want to play golf. I've gone to the AU game in 204, 2006, and 2008, and I stay in Montgomery for this game though

OP asked "how's the area?" I answered to the best of my ability. He didn't specify those things you mentioned.

I've stayed at the Auburn Inn, Inn at Auburn, or whatever it's called, right by the campus. Very nice hotel with a good bar and close to the spots on Toomers Corner.

Don't waste your money if it's hot chicks and drink specials you're looking for, it's no better than Auburn for that. If you are looking for cow pastures, maybe they got a few heffers roaming around in them
