How to get the Coach you want, stick your neck out with trust.

I understand college football is big business, but sometimes in business trust between parties is the key to success.
Alabama wanted Nick Saban and nobody else, so they stuck their neck out to gain his trust. He has no buyout, he can leave freely at any time.
If Alabama fires him without just cause, he gets the remainder of his contract. He has no restrictions on wins and losses, he is paid the same for 0-12 or 12-0, but he is paid bonuses for post season accomplishments.
He has paid back Alabama's trust by staying loyal for 10 years. Now his children, grandbaby, and Mother are up the road in B'ham, so his wife says she will never move again.
My last point was this. Alabama and Saban kept that trust for years, now his personal life and Alabama's windfall from his accomplishments have permanently cemented that trust.
Now the question is this, is there a big time Coach out there that LSU is willing to gamble on such points as Alabama did with Saban? A young up and coming Coach, maybe not, a seasoned big time coach, perhaps.
It's going to be a trying time for the Tigers fan base. Best of luck in your search.

Problem with point is that Gumps got Saban without baggage.
Proven performer in SEC. LSU NC. Most coaches will come from minors.
No outside aspirations. He dreamed of NFL at LSU. Remember Les and Michigan?
This was a perfect storm. If he came back to LSU would be same. He won't. Texas proved that.

SABAN TO LSU, CONFURMED!

The relationship is not based on loyalty. He wins, they pay for it. If he ever threatens to leave (which he has), they pay him more. His family moving nearby is irrelevant, it's just happens to be a circumstance that has no influence on Saban staying at Bama.

You obviously did not get to know Terry Saban very well while they were at LSU, she wears the pants in that family.
If you think family is irrelevant and has no influence on the Saban's, then you are about 10 years behind.
FWIW, Saban never threatened to go anywhere, the Texas story was media/booster nonsense.
