Has Ben Simmons ever said he was going pro after one year or are we all assuming it? I've asked this twice before and just got smart-elect answers. Anyone actually heard it from him?

Whether he's said so or not, give one reason why he would spend more than a year.

You realize the "they" you're referring to is the NBA. It's their rule.

Of course it's the NBA. Is there another "they" I could have been referring too?

Ben Simmons could use more experience before going to the NBA because his jump shot is non-existent! Teams are already picking up on it in college ball and sag off of him on D

GTFO then. Like you wouldn't go if you were number one pick. Nobody wants you to be a fan. Go away and grow up. It's about money regardless of how much you like basketball. I'm playing for free tonight. I would leave my friends to et paid 50 tonight lol

Yes because averaging 16.5 ppg, 14.5 rpg, and 6 apg while having a 6:1 ast:to ratio usually means you're not ready

It's amazing how he could be under appreciated, but I see so many people criticizing him it's hilarious

Did I say anything about how much he scores or rebounds? No I didn't. Learn how to read and comprehend before you type

Do you have a job? Wouldn't you take the route that maximized your income?

You sound like a twelve year old.

It works for Kentucky when you get the same top guy every year

Plus UK actually capitalizes on the one year they have with each guy or guys...

Well learn what scouts are looking at in the NBA before you make a moronic statement. You think he won't be drafted top 3 because his jumpshot hasn't developed yet?? He's the most complete player in college basketball, but you think he needs to come back because of his jump shot

Nowhere did I say I don't blame him. It's really the NBA rules and system that I find highly flawed. I'd go for the money in a heartbeat.

My bigger problem is it would take more than a year to really get a full understanding of the LSU system and start gelling with teammates. It's rather frustrating to get so excited over a guy when you know his best games would come in 2016/17 season and beyond, but as a fan, you are forced to watch a young inexperienced guy give you hopes and dreams of an exciting future, only to be ripped out next year.

That is the point some here are making. It doesn't take that long for the good coaches to gel these kids. There are multiple examples of this, and UK is that example year in and year out. Carmelo Anthony won a title, as freshman. Kevin Durant and the Longhorns were 25-10 and upset in 2nd round. There are more.

What you are saying isn't incorrect, he and LSU would be better next year. But when you take on this talent, you better know how to maximize it for 1 year.

No tourney appearance would be epic failure.

And the sad part is they may not gel together fast enough this year to get any real benefit out of having him here.

I didn't say anything about him not being drafted top 3
And correct me if I am wrong but wouldn't an individual have to be well-rounded(passing, driving, SHOOTING) to be considered "the most COMPLETE player in college basketball"?? The complete part means every facet of the game and maybe you are blind and ignorant but he cannot shoot the basketball away from the rim aka "jump shot". Again, analyze what you are going to type in your head before you actually do it. Would save yourself a lot of confusion and us from reading the BS

Not having Victor or Hornsby is not the reason they lost those games last week. It's bad coaching when you can't play interior defense or stop guard penetration. It's bad coaching when you allow your players to jack up threes instead of attacking.

And it's really tough to blame the guy when he is looking at a top 3 pick in the NBA draft.

Maybe things have changed, but I just don't see this.

While he does have outstanding passing capabilities, he isn't very good from the free throw line and apparently can't hit jump shots to a point where opposing coaches have already figured out how to defend against him.

Help me understand how he's projected to go so high? Is it just his potential?
