i don't wanna seem like a noob, but could someone please tell me how dominant our baseball team really is? is it just weak competition or are we really that good. averaging over 12 runs no matter who your opponent is is outstanding. when was the last time we looked so dominant and is this a regular thing for college baseball to have a team doing something like this? or is this something special?

well considering the competition and how the team has hit better every game it seems like, Id say they havent missed a beat since last year.

The main difference is the starting pitching is light years better and the offense is more spread up and down the lineup instead of concentrated like last year

i agree completely with the pitching and the lineup. that's why i really think this team is that good. we'll get a better feel in conference play but you can;t help but think NO ONE wants to play us right now and that might help with our opponents beating themselves a bit. we definitely still have that magic from last year

This team can be awesome. Not a real weak spot per se. Solid starting pitching, bullpen, speed, defense and a batting lineup that looks to be dangerous from 1-9. Oh, and a good bench. Pretty sure the SEC schedule will expose any weaknesses but it looks very promising.

Baseball is a funny game sometimes. You can hit slumps, etc. It has a way of humbling you quickly. It's a long season and I see some losses in conference but barring some freak occurence, this team will be tough to beat come SEC and NCAA tournament time.

+2

This team has lots of talent and experience, but in baseball anything can happen on any given day. There will no doubt be a stretch in the season when the hitting slumps a bit and the pitching isn't as sharp. But come NCAA Tourney time I like our chances.

Although I didn't want to have to high of expectations for this club its hard to ignore their dominance so far... Anything short of Omaha will be a disappointment in my eyes.

My only question: will the team get complascent(sp)with the ease that is is winning or will it put the peddle down and just keep pounding folks...how will they react in close games?

IMO these guys showed last year that they can be down but never out, and that comes from the coach. So I'd have to say good shape.

These guys are great, if you haven't seen them yet in person you need to.

irvine lost to loyola marymount, florida state lost to jacksonville, miami lost to rhode island...we are scoring 15 runs a game.

weak competition? no collegiate baseball team should be giving up 16 or 19 runs...terrible or not.

This team is gonna make winning a Natn'l chmpionshp look waaay to easy.

The gorrilla's of Alex Box are only gonna lose between 5 to 12 games all year, and will also stay at #1 for the rest of the season.

Its pretty sick how LSU got to 8- 0 with such ease.

and fricking please spare me "the weak OOC opponents" speach....were not just winning these OCC games by just a couple of runs. We have outscored our opponent with 99 runs earned and only 21 runs givin up.

Scores:
- 12-3, 6-3, 11-1, 11-5, 13-4, 11-2, 16-0, 19-3 = 99 runs through 8 games which averages to 12 runs a game....thats crazy numbers reagardless of the competition you're up against.

LSU's Outlook

- Ofensive Lineup/Bats (A++) its always raining Homeruns in the Red Stick ....Gorrilla ball is stronger than ever!

- Pitching(B+) experience is helping so look for more improvement.

- Defense(A) Lamahieu at shortstop with Mitchell and Landry keeping the Outfeild on lock down.

I'm taking my money to Vegas before they figure this shite out!

Is there ANYTHING more boring than a 19-3 baseball game?

...a 0-0 tie in soccer, any NHL game that ends in a tie, or any NBA game period.
