How much do y'all honestly expect the offense to change this week?

Had this conversation earlier...with the ineptitude of everything in our current offensive system, how much change do we really expect for next week vs Missouri?

We are handing the reigns to a defensive coach and the offensive coordinator will be a tight ends coach who hasn't called plays since 2002 (HS head coach) and 1994-1998 (OC at A&M/Clemson)

I am sure they will want to make changes, but in just one week's worth of practices, how much can they really get done with the time limits on how much they can practice? I guess it might just come down to how much creativity and openness was actually in the playbook over the offseason that we just failed to ever use in the games?

A tight ends coach with a history of QB coach and passing coordinator will likely have emphasis on the passing game, especially targeting the TEs. I still fully expect for us to lean heavily on the running game with LF7 and Guice, slowly installing some new things.

Hopefully we can make it through Missouri...then we'd have 2 weeks worth of practices under the interim coaching to get ready for Florida.

Not much. They're still using the same playbook as before, they're not completely overhauling the offense in a week.

I think it will change a lot. There is a lot of talent on that team and there is possibly someone there that knows how to use it but wasn't listened to on the sidelines!

Not too much.

It isn't fair to expect them to roll out a different offense. The current offense is already installed. I think we'll see them try out some different play calls out of the same book but I wouldn't expect much different really.

We have pretty much given up on the 2016 season. Which is fine, it had to be done. But at this point it won't do any of us any good to expect great things for the rest of this year and we need to just look at the positives and hope for growth for the players that will definitely be on the team next year.

Probably just less stupid playcalling and calls that don't fit given situations.

That would be something else if the offense came out and had a ridiculous game.

Can't teach new plays, but when, where, and why could make a big difference.

Dunno but hopefully they practiced things that did not make it onto the field.

Would love 5 wideouts with LF in the backfield once or twice and see what happens.

So you want to sub a linemen with a blocking wide receiver?

At a minimum I expect them to at least go against some tendancies. Doesn't require a change to the playbook , just a little less predictability.

I dont think its gonna change much as far as scheme because there just isnt time to install a whole new offense. But I think what you will see is the offense not playing so close to the vest. There is literally nothing to lose so I think they are just gonna open the offense and just live with the results good or bad.

Definitely not legal. Unless LF is in the backfield alone as the QB.

ETA: Not 100% opposed to that idea.

They will utilize a greater variety of the playbook without Les' ultra conservative play calling philosophy. I think we'll finally throw over the middle.
