Tiger Stadium atmosphere definitely aint the same except for Alabama and Ole Miss every other year at Night.
I never miss going to a game, but sadly, I agree with this.

1- at home with group of friends.
2- in barroom near home.
3- home alone
4- at game. A big part of that is I can't see the field, it's to far away, so I end up learing at the coeds.

It's a 4-5 hour trip for me each game. Plus hotel. I've had season tickets and parking for 15 years. I go to the SEC games and either sell or donate the remainder. Having a parking pass is much more valuable today and makes attending much easier. If I had to fight for parking, I wouldn't attend as many games. In the end, I'll take being in the stadium over watching it on TV - given the chance. Personal choice.
And, I will watch LSU in the Superdome any chance I get.

I drive to every home game from Orlando, FL for the past 3 seasons. I wouldn't change it for the world. Geaux Tigers!

Definitely for big games
Cook some good food, have some drinks, twist a doob, and relax in my chair.
I do like to attend a home game every once in a while snd have always wanted to go to an away game (@UT is my target when we play over there in a couple years)

For me it is a given that I have to watch on TV because for me to watch a live game I have to fly 8,000 miles to Tiger Stadium. Now, I do it sometimes and catch 2 games or 3 if I stay long enough during my trip.
But I have some cool house parties as I am getting ready for the BYU game as I have some buddies that work for OXY, BP Noble Drilling and ExxonMobil and ZADCO coming to my house for the game. We are having shrimp n crab gumbo and I am making bacon wrapped shrimp and fried boudin balls for appetizers. The game starts at 5:30AM due to the time difference but all these guys above have off due to EID holiday. Here the work week starts Sunday-Thurs but they get this Sunday and Monday off.
Our typical long day tailgate/housegate party- This Saturday we are driving in the morning from Abu Dhabi to Dubai (1:15 min) and play a round at Emirates Golf Club. Have lunch then drive back. I will stop at the seafood market and buy some crabs and shrimp and my maid and I will start preparing. Actually I will boil the crabs and help her peel them to get the lump crabmeat out, but I will probably eat 50% of what I peel. Yummy... Might take a 2 hour nap from 6-8pm then start cooking the gumbo and start watching football at 8pm which are the 11:00AM early games. I will have my slingbox set up to my pc to my 55" TV, another PC with ESPN Player hooked to a another 45" TV on a stand rolled into my living room and a friend will bring his Slingbox which we will hook up to another 45" spare TV. My friends are grads from Kentucky so that game comes on at 12 midnight, another from Arizona State, another from Minnesota, one La Tech and the other an LSU grad.
And some of you may have remembered, I had the LSU games at my friends Bourbon Street Restaurant and Bar when in Bangkok as that is my second home. I will watch a couple of games there in November. In October I will watch 2 games- 1 in Bali and 1 in Jakarta during my trip to the Bali Classic Golf Tournament.
Here is to watching LSU games at home on TV in Abu Dhabi or where you are in the world, or in Bangkok and Bali, and making the most of it.
But for this thread, I prefer going to games and like I said sometimes I travel 8,000 miles to go to a game, then hopefully catch 2 of them while in USA. So, I watch many more on TV but would prefer to be there inside Tiger Stadium!!!

3 years ago I would have called you an idiot and claimed ppl like you were ruining what was once "Death Valley." This year however, there are really only three games I'd like to be in attendance for. It's so much easier to cook, have ppl over to get drunk in the comfort of my own home than it is to commit 12 hours and much more money every saturday to tailgating, the game and fighting traffic after.

+4. Nothing better than being in Tiger Stadium

Going to the games is definitely a much better experience. The cost of season tickets and lodging; for those of us who live out of town, is a significant chunk of change. I try to attend two or three games a year and catch the rest on tv. I wish money was no object, but I'm trying to save enough money to retire and send a couple of kids to college.

I used to go to almost every home game. I remember several years ago I got home super late from the Bama game. The next morning my Dad asked me what time I got home, I told him about 2am. He laughed and said you know what I did when the game was over? Threw my last beer can in the trash, walked to my bedroom and went to sleep.
I slowly but surely have started to come around to his way of thinking. I still love going to one or two games a year though.

I drive from NOLA go to every home game and stay till the end, I just enjoy being in that stadium 6 or so times a year. I must say that every year I tell my Father that the shite atmosphere in the stadium no longer makes the experience worth it (I have to work on some Sunday mornings). My 70 year old Father will have none of it, I don't mind the driving, traffic, lines etc...what I do mind is that the stadium that I used to love and brag about is a complete joke of itself and I feel like f$ck it because I get so aggravated when that Third Quarter starts.

Home for sure. I honestly can get too riled up sometimes, so I like to watch LSU games alone, especially if its a big game.

Attending games in person at least a few times is a must. Then, when you're older it's the TV every Saturday for 6 games (2 in each time slot).

going out and supporting the Tigers is second to none, i love the hell out of Death Valley. I also wont be mad watching the game on my 80 inch tv inside my LSU man cave. The surround sound just makes it so much better, makes u feel like you are at the game anyway. Geaux Tigers
Agreed. When I was going to LSU of course it was a no-brainer.
Now I'm in my 40s with 2 kids, and a demanding job.
I imagine all of the down votes are coming from youngsters, which is understandable, but priorities change when you get older.

Been a season ticket holder for 15 years or so...used to drive in 7 hours for games. Now I live here and attend most home games. If I would have read this thread even 5 years ago I would have said you were crazy...that nothing could top tailgating and the Tiger Stadium experience. I have to confess that as the years go by it gets harder and harder to motivate myself to go to all that trouble especially for the non SEC games.

Honestly depends on hot it is. I fricking hate early season, 100 degree games and will gladly turn down tickets to stay home, drink, and cook in the AC. When the weather gets nice though, I'd rather tailgate and go to the game live.

I'm 50 now and home is great on gameday.
