I have gotten 4 since the news became official yesterday. Sounds like they are worried here.

One. But I find it strange that they can find me when I'm not looking for tickets and don't seem to be interested when I'm looking for baseball season tickets. I've paid to be on the waiting list for a few years with no luck. I know about the TAF point system but there sure did seem to be a lot of empty seats before Maineri actually brought back the excitement.

Quit your bitchin. This is nothing more than they do for any other sport.

Would you rather them send out nothing so you could be on here bitching about how LSU needs to be better at communicating how to get tickets ?

We will have to buy about 18,000 tickets and if we don't sell them, we eat the money. Secondly, it is not uncommon for SEC teams to struggle selling bowl tix. TN sold about 5k for a Capital One bowl about 4/5 years ago, and Auburn about the same for the Cotton Bowla few years ago. It does hurt our chances on future bowls to not travel well -- this is a big deal.

I recieved 3 emails, but they were all the same content, just from 3 different sources. Seems the amount of emails one receives is directly proportional to the amount of services they have signed up for over the years (i.e., TAF, LSU ticket office, etc).

To me the emails show just how many bandwagon/fair weather fans LSU has accumulated over the last several years. I am sure we would not have gotten this email last year or even the year before when we were in the Sugar Bowl.

The economy also wasn't this bad last year or the year before.

Maybe LSU fans should ask for a little bit of that American Automakers bailout money.

I've gotten 4 or 5, but I'm a student and a member of TAF so I'm getting double from Joe.

I spoke to someone in the ticket office and they are VERY concerned about having to return tickets to the bowl. This would reflect very negatively on LSU and could possibly keep other bowls from inviting us in the future. I believe that the ticket office only got about 4,000 requests for bowl tickets, hence the reason for the flood of emails in the past 24 hours.
