Not having Craig Victor has killed this team. Reath is the only guy that can somewhat protect the rim....team has no identity what so ever......does Jones last thru the end of the year....? What are you going to do Alleva........

After today, I can see him getting the "Brady treatment" and getting canned midseason. Brady got the ax on February 8. That's a good over-under for Jones.

Team full of lollipops!

The anti-BB talk is getting out of hand on this board. I'm as disappointed as anyone on the season so far. But running down the players and dogging the team isn't acceptable. I can understand bashing the coach, he is paid to take the blame and the results reflect on him no matter what. People, most that don't even care about the team, have crossed the line and I'm hopping the Admins keep hammering those that do.

This team is young and not super talented. It just lost it's 2nd best player (an all conference level talent) and is very undersized. It's going to take time to build up this foundation, but they have great pieces and more on the way. I'm still hoping the team finishes up conference play somewhere around .500 and flirts with the NIT. That is where just about everybody predicted them to finish. So why the huge push to fire the coach now?

Unless the team just totally folds up and we lose every game the rest of the year, Jones will not be fired. He is a good guy, that runs a clean program, he's alumni, he's cheap (compared to other SEC BB coaches) and he wins. He's not going anywhere and he shouldn't.

I'm not trying to dog the kids..their play is a reflection of their HC, in temperament and priorities.

Losing with youth can be tolerated, a four year run of seemingly indifference to so many basics of basketball by this staff..cannot be.

It is exactly this kind of attitude that has gotten LSU basketball to the place it is right now.

JJ wins what? Weak preseason schedule with a couple of Power 5 schools that blow us out the gym. The SEC tournament is a quick exit.

Runs a clean program. That's what he is paid to do.

That he's an alumni should not be part of his evaluation. Being an alumni doesn't help a coach win games.

He's cheap. We get what we pay for.

The bottom line is that if people can't see how weak JJ's coach skills are, then LSU BB will continue to swim with the catfish at the bottom of the Mississippi River.

On a positive note, I absolutely love the players on this team. The coaches are not, however, putting them in a position to win, and that's not the player's fault.

Running offensive sets, any resemblance of them is missing, as is the defense.

The better question is do we faith that the AD can hire a decent replacement.

Where to begin. We only play a couple of exhibition games and they don't count towards our record. There is no preseason. There is no such thing as "Power 5" conferences in basketball. So more talking out of your arse. LSU has been in at least the quarterfinals every year that Jones has been here in the SEC tournament. That's the 3rd round, so there goes that as well.

Lots don't and get fired for it. So, kind of matters for some reason. I like that he does, can't speak for you though. I'm sure you'll bang the drum for somebody like Pitino, who gets his guys hookers. As long as they keep winning.

It matters to me. He is one of us and I'll never throw him under the buss because of that. You must not be a LSU guy if you have no loyalty to a fellow alumni and it wouldn't at least give you a moment of hesitation before shitting on him like you are.

LSU was in a lurch when they hired him and he bailed us out. Nobody else was taking the job when he did. Even Tubby Smith turned us down. The program was in free fall. He stabilized it. 4 winning seasons in a row, isn't a bad ROI.

So just fire him, right now? What do you we do then? Who are we getting? What if that guy doesn't win right away? Then we fire him, right? Trent Johnson went 11-20 two straight seasons and still wasn't fired. Why such the quick trigger with Jones?

This may be one of the dumbest comments I have ever read on this board. "Well he's an LSU alumni, so his failure to put his players in a position to win is fine by me."

Quick trigger? He's been here for 5 years now and his claim to fame is blowing a 20 point lead in the first round of the NCAA tournament in his only appearance.
