Assuming Lange pitches our next game and we win it
How should it be handled after that?

I'd assume Bain, and try to get at least five out of him.

Assuming we keep winning, after Lange, I'm thinking it'll be Bain. Poche will be available for either one of the two games after that, but we'll have to use the Jack Wholestaff approach for the other one. Make it to the championship series, and Lange will be ready for Game 1 there.

The game after Bain wins (theoretically) has got me f'd up. At first I thought start Bugg cause he feels like the guy that could extend beyond the first trip through the lineup with the way his stuff runs. But then you realize he has been the best back end guy for 2 months now.

I guess you'd have to start Reynolds in that game....that is a freaking scary proposition. The only thing scarier would be starting Cartwright.

Maybe you gamble and start Stallings and pray to the Good Lord above that he can get you through the lineup in 3 smooth innings and then get him out ASAP.

The one positive that came out of yesterday's game was that Mainieri basically got to "audition" all the pitchers by at least getting them into the game. Cartwright probably played himself out of a chance to pitch in a meaningful situation. You only see him again if we are way ahead or way behind.

Won't happen. You don't start a guy who hasn't started before when you have guys like Godfrey, Norman, and Reynolds who have all started before.

I'm looking for a guy who I think can get me through the lineup one time....at times all have shown this at times all have shown the ability to not be able to get a single out. It isn't an easy situation to be in.

Godfrey scares the shite out of me when he gets on the bump. I'm never sure where he will be mentally....and his mental state directly mirrors his control.

Norman seems like he has come around a little but I'm still looking at the guy that gave up 9 hits and 4 ER to Nicholls.

I would like to see Bain, then Poche, then Newman.
