I know we will steal bases regardless, but does anybody know what kind of arm ULL has behind the plate?

If the Cajuns have a limp arm back there, that could be a helluva advantage!

I believe he's thrown out 20 in 61 attempts. If I'm reading the stats correctly.

No, 20 in 61 attempts. 41 is the number of steals on him.

My bad. That's why I put the qualifier in there. Will edit.

I heard he drinks out of a hose. Don't know if he has one.

No worries. By comparison, Scivique is 18 of 51 throwing out runners.

What's a good % for a catcher in throwing out runners? Around 33%?

I heard he plays the game the right way and the coaching staff couldn't be prouder of the way he battles.

Looking at MLB every day catchers from last year, it seems one should expect 20-30% caught stealing. Molina was tops at just under 50%.

Thanks. Wasn't sure what a "good" % was.

I'd say good is probably 25% and up. There were only 5 everyday (around 100 games played) catchers that were less than 20%, and 5 were 33% or better.

Most 'steals' are made because of the time it takes for the pitcher to go through his motion and not on the arm strength of the catcher.

Not true. Most steals are successful because of when they run. Coaches typically don't run in fastball counts.

Anyone that has decent enough speed to steal without getting thrown out will steal on the pitching motion. It doesn't matter what type of pitch is being thrown.
