The way this team hits, if they made it to the Supers, I think one could argue they have overachieved.

The way this team pitches and plays defense,, I think it's a crying shame we can't produce a few runs for them.

we were not supposed to be in this position before the season started, CPM

recruited this team.

In general how long should a recruit or a particular class be on campus before passing judgement? Obviously there are exceptions as some players step in and are major contributors from the start, some take longer to develop, and some are simply program type players that provide depth.

But generally speaking, when would you make a judgement on whether or not a player, or class, was a success?

i'm sure it differs with each player...

my point is saying PM got the most out of the players on the team doesn't fly when PM recruited the players.

the sig quote from skip sums it up perfectly... "it's not your fault, it's my fault. I never should have recruited you".

I understand that. But Grewe was let go for a reason and Mainieri decided to change the way they recruit and evaluate players. We currently only have two classes on campus that were signed after he was fired and the changes were made, and that was the reason for my question.

I don't think LSU will make it out of a regional much less a super regional or Omaha.

BUT

I do know teams can catch fire and this team could go on a run and prove me wrong which I hope they do.

We are down choup, but we arent out. It wouldnt shock me if this team went to omaha. They are 2 good breaks from making it happen IMO

They can get to Omaha...then anything can happen. Just know that if Nola has one bad or even average outing we are basically finished.

It is hard for me to understand, even in view of modern bats, that any LSU baseball team would be this bad at hitting.

We might see a reversal of 2002.

LSU gets sent to Lafayette for the regional. LSU shuts out ULL on Saturday with Nola on the mound. LSU runs out of pitching on Sunday and Monday, and ULL throws a couple of bats into the dugout and beats LSU twice.

I'm sad no one appreciated this.

I agree, nothing would really surprise me with this team....from 0-2 in a regional to winning games in Omaha. We've lost a game in which he pitched great, but also won the game in which he had his only bad start.
