Lsu is average at the plate, stony brook is top 10 in the country. They are better than most at the plate, its really not debateable

Rhymes is a good, not great hitter. Most his balls this year barely made it through the infield. He would be a good two-hole hitter. Calling Rhymes the best hitter in the country is way overblown. I could think of 2 maybe 3 hitters just on stony brook's team that I would rather have. The sad thing is, he is the best we got.

Fine, advantage Cantwell, but no way is the gap big enough to want 1 year of Cantwell over 3 of Ross. Ross is only getting better, just look at the improvement from last year.

I would take cantwell. Since we have javi "no experience req'd" sanchez as our Hitting coach, I'm sure Ross will regress like Edward and Jones.

UF, USCe, FSU, Arizona, and the list goes on would all crush them in Omaha if they beat us tomorrow.

well big problem is mainieri's admitted laziness and the lack of talent we have. LSU should have top 5 talent every year. there is a reason these kids play for Stony Brook and not South Carolina, Florida, or UCLA

Great strawman.
I'm arguing more along the lines of 3 years of Claiborne would be better than 1 year of PP7.

Exactly.....we just got beat by a team that we should be ashamed to lose to at this time of year. I hope Maineri has made this very clear to the team.

We are below average for a CWS team. WE may be average when you take all the shite teams into account.

SB is no doubt a top 10-15 offense in CBB this year. However, every team in OMaha will have close to their talent if not more in the lineup. See UF, who we should've lost 2/3 to, but got lucky.

If we had just one solid MLB talent in the lineup, we could skunk this team. But we have guys who won't even sniff the majors in this lineup.

SB legitimately has 3 guys who have a very good chance. You have to believe that's coaching. I would seriously consider hiring their hitting coach to replace Javi.

The reason Stonybrook can have more talent is where they're located. They sit just outside of NYC, have 25K+ students and don't have a ton of competition for players. Baseball isn't like football in that talent isn't so obvious to see, especially when you're talking about kids from cold weather climates who aren't in position to be scouted/recruited as heavily as kids from warm weather climates. Most recruiting classes in the SEC are wrapped up by the fall before HS kids play their senior years and there are tons of kids in the northeast who don't develop until well after that. All the Stonybrook's and St. John's of the world have to do is sit back and wait on the kids who fall through the cracks. You'd be amazed at the quality of players who are looking for places to go up that way.

The thing is.....they have 4 top SEC talents on their team. (Jankowski, Carmona, Cantwell, and Tissenbaum)

The rest would either play over guys who don't belong in the SEC anyway (like Hanover, fields, Edward) or would not make a team.

Jizz over Tyler Johnson all you want. That guy is not an SEC pitcher. we are just THAT bad in our approach at the plate. Sanchez needs to go, but he's our crowton unfortunately. Having too good of a season that masks the glaring problem.

IN no way should SB EVER have more talent than one of the premier programs in college baseball. Our coaches have let this program down on the hitting side of things. SB doesn't have more talent than UCLA, TCU, USCe, AZ, STanford, FSU, or even Oregon, as evident by MLB draft.

Agreed! SB has a much larger talent pool in their back yard than LSU. See how few Louisiana kids are in MLB.

This "team" that you act like has no business being on the field with us just so happens to have had 7 players drafted this year. And also has 3 players in the top 22 in batting avg in the NATION. Each of them are batting over .390. We just lost to a team that is very deserving to be where they are right now. That being said I want my tiger to win tomorrow.

You have no idea how baseball talent evaluation or development works. You're embarrassing yourself, and acting like a rantard. Stop.
