I really like what McMahon did with Cook coming off the bench. I hope Cook can accept that role moving forward. Hannibal has played really well of late, I think he does a better job of getting the offense going.

We’re 4-4 now, how do y’all think we finish?

@Ark - L

I think we finish 5-5, 9-9 overall. Does this get us into the tournament? I would assume we would have to win a few games in the SEC tournament.

NIT is a reasonable goal. I am hesitant to read too much into this win because Arkansas is such a mess right now, so it's more about getting better individually and collectively and the upcoming games will give us a much better idea if we are really getting that or not.

9-9 is probably the ceiling.

But no, that doesn’t get LSU into the tournament. LSU did nothing of note in the non-conference schedule, and your 9 SEC wins would be against the (likely) bottom half of the league.

Reason for optimism after last year’s terrible performance. Not NCAA Tournament caliber yet

NET is so low, would have to beat UK and Alabama to have a shot at the tournament. Both are winnable at home. That would put you at 10-8 and 18-13 overall.
2-1 in the tournament and you get to 20-14 and maybe sneak in as an 11 as the last 4 in

Win 2 games in the SEC tournament and we are probably a bubble team with what you have listed but I think likely not in. I we win one additional game in your scenario, the @Arky game, and win two in the SEC tournament we will have a 7 game winning streak coming into the loss that ends our season and will likely have upset at least one team in the SEC tournament so I think we get in on the bubble in that scenario depending on unlikely auto qualifiers.

But all of that is iffy at best. I do think with what you have there, LSU gets in the NIT. Might end up playing McNeese if they don't win their conference tournament (I expect them to win it, though).

If we finish this season .500 in the SEC, I'm celebrating like we won the championship after what we witnessed last year.

Arkansas is a mess, but I've seen enough to say LSU is very much improved from last year. The SEC games that LSU has won have all been by 8 or more points, they have two losses that were by a combined 6 points, and their other two losses were on the road to two of the best teams in the league at Auburn and Bama. LSU made a tremendous comeback at Auburn after being down 28 to cut it to 8 points with less than 5 minutes to go. At Bama, LSU played a really good 1st half putting up 44 and being down only 6. They just couldn't stop Bama and put on a very poor defensive performance in the 2nd half.

This team is competing fine against SEC teams. That was not the case last year, so it's nice to see.

I feel like an NIT bid would be a solid accomplishment for the state the program is currently in. But you can see it coming from a mile away - LSU vs McNeese in the first round. You know it will happen.

this team is better than last year's there is no debating that. The tell for me is will we develop and improve as the year goes on. That's what I'm looking for.

I don't understand so many thinking that LSU will beat Florida on the road. Sure it's possible, but not likely. Florida is a MUCH better team at home than on the road.

If there's any game in that first five LSU realistically could win it's the home game vs Kentucky. The CATS are in a funk right now and like Arkansas, appear to be headed toward being a dysfunctional mess.
