They are already making a ton of money? I think by next year we will have the depth to make another run.

Neither will play in the WNBA so where will they go? Saying that , I think both are gone.

I actually think they’ll both stay.

Try and improve draft stock and get paid more than they would hypothetically in the wnba. Not sure what the status of their degree progress is though. Might as well knock that out too.

I think its hilarious that they would even leave. They will make more in NIL then they will ever make in the WNBA in a year. shite will there even be an WNBA in 10 years when it continues to lose millions???

If I were in their seat I would meet with my financial advisor and talk about which is more profitable in the long run. I’d say for both, that is staying in college. Angel probably making over half a mil a year in NIL. Those ads will probably stop flowing when she is a middle of the pack WNBA player

Yes the WNBA will be around in 10 years. The league has lost money since day 1 and has been around for 25 years. If NBA were to disband the league, they would have done so 10+ years ago. Not in this era can they do it from a PC viewpoint.

Just sweeten the NIL package pure and simple. Grad school is calling.

I would think HVL doesn’t even make a roster. Mulkey said she isn’t going to influence those decisions tho. Their advisors will probably have to convince them that it’s not worth taking the leap.

Morris was better than HVL and got cut before opening day.
Same thing would happen to HVL.
But to be honest, she’s not the answer at PG LSU needs.

I don't understand why any women's player would opt for the draft. They can probably make more with NIL at LSU and will fade into obscurity in the WNBA

Does anyone really watch the NBA, woman's basketball seems to be having a renaissance.

If they make a team, they get 70k. At LSU, they get around 30k per year tax free for room and board plus total cost of attendance then probably 250k in direct LSU NIL. Angel is getting national NIL money, but that dries up when she is just an average WNBA player.

1. Angel makes well over $1.2 million in NIL these days and most of that will follow her if she chooses the WNBA draft. Same for Hailey. They are both media stars and have modeling contracts.

2. Whether they stay or go in May of this year probably depends on whether each girl just wants to move on with her adult life or stay a college student another year. Both girls have been in college four years or more.

3. I wish Angel would stay as I enjoy watching her play. HVL can leave and LSUWBB will be just fine. Poa can play PG with Velez as her understudy. Just get Sa'mayah Smith healthy and back playing for 2024-25.

4. Recruit Sarah Strong (#1 national recruit) for next season. That young lady is a baller at 6"2" and a strong player in the paint.

They need to find another 1 and let her play the 2. I think she could be good there.

I think shes been playing very well recently.

I would have agreed with that sentiment a month or more ago.

Yeah, Hailey Van Lith has been coming on lately. Had the two games in a row where she was high scorer for LSU...26 and 18 pts I think. Yesterday, 40% from 3 point land, 50% of her other shots, 6 rebounds, and amazingly 2 blocked shots. LSU only had 3. And she shoots 81% at the FT line for the season.

Still had 3 turnovers but I didn't get the game and for turnovers you have to see the game. Sometimes it isn't the person credited with the turnover at fault...but most of the time is. Anyway, Morrow and Van Lith hit a dry spell a while back. Morrow did shoot only 33% yesterday. But those two highly touted transfers (#1 and #2 supposedly) IMO are the keys to LSU's tourney future. Reese and Johnson are going to get theirs and M Williams is going to be inconsistent due to being a TR FR.

My guess is they’re coming back. Not saying I like this but here’s my thought. In todays college sports why wouldn’t they act like they were leaving. They’re probably looking for more NIL money.

Don't know about HVL. But, Reese will take a pay cut to play in the WNBA.

Perhaps mistaken but HVL will graduate with her Master Degree this semester, getting her MBA. Can she return to school to work on another degree? But both are not limited to the WNBA, many players are now playing in the European League, and that level of pay is significant, especially in comparison to the WNBA. Play there for a few yrs, improve your game & then try to make a roster. Gaines was making over a million a year in Russia as I recall.
