I turned the tv off thinking that we had lost. I was ready for both Les and Gary to be fired. Then my cousin called me saying "Can you believe that?" I was like "Yeah. How the hell do you substitute with no timeouts and under 30 seconds to score." My cousin was like, "Ed, you do know LSU won right?" I rewind-ed the recording and sure enough, we won!!! First reaction was then I was all over again.

A) Loss/Win.

B) It was a win. We won.

I was at the game. Saw the flag. Celebrated.

I was at the Red River Shootout in Dallas where my only means of receiving a score was via gamecast and text messages from my cell.

With 7 seconds left in the game, my phone died. My last 2 text messages were "We lost" and "wait a minute". I of course thought of "wait a minute" as a hail mary challenge in which we would eventually lose anyway.

As I marched out of the Cotton Bowl with 35,000 angry Texas fans, I may have been the most pissed off. I went 3 and a half hours thinking LSU had lost.

It was only when I went into a local bar to make a phone call when I saw on ESPN's bottom line "LSU-Les Miles win miracle game". I screamed in exhaultation and called my buddy to chew him out for telling me LSU had lost!

Went outside and cursed Crowton like the dog he is and Miles for employing him.

I was in the stands. When the ball was snapped past Jefferson I let loose with a string of profanities that had not yet been seen my man. Then I saw the flag and was ok.

I had watched it at a sports bar in Metairie. I was in my car and the radio was tuned in.

I yelled penalty and this guy started hanging inside my window and I couldn't get the window rolled up fast enough to go back inside the bar.

The dude's lucky he still has a head and arms.

I was getting ready to head into a concert in Charleston and getting the play by play from my brother over the phone. I was also on mushrooms... it was all very confusing and frustrating at the same time.

I think Les fricked-up my buzz for a lil bit there.

But I rallied.

We were so shocked we went back to the tailgate and partied like we had just won the NC. It was a weird, "We're going to laugh so we don't cry" type of thing.

My neice was getting married that same day at my brother's home. The entire wedding party was watching the game when the game ended - the first time. At that exact moment, with everyone in disbelief, my daugther walked into the room and announced that the bride was ready for the ceremony to begin. Then the referee signaled a penalty and a replay of the down. My brother made the decision, to the delight of the crowd, to delay the wedding until after the game. One of history's greatest decisions of all time. :)

When I saw the ball snapped and fly by JJ's head, I turned off the t.v. and went outside, mumbling something like, "if he don't get rid of Crowton" but turned right back and came inside and for some reason turned the t.v. back on. I saw the final score and was confused. I hit rerun on the dvr and watched it all from the bad snap and then was relieved. I don't think I really celebrated, but was just relieved.

Oh yeah, I was still mumbling, "He better get rid of Crowton."

Everyone went outside to throw a fit and I was glued to the TV thinking "WTF?!?".

Get the joy, if that, of going outside and telling everyone we won... Wasn't stoked about that either. "a win is a win" has never lost it's meaning so much in my life.

I don't think I have been that mad after a game since our homecoming lost to Barbe. And I'm 37 years old now. My son almost saw his father throw a tantrum like a 2 yr old.

I live in Memphis. Had a bunch of UT fans over to watch the game.

Everyone in the house was disappointed with how that game came out.

I simply could not believe that we had clock management issues yet again. The U fans were upset for other obvious reasons.

Went from unbelievable anger (but not as much as the "clock it" game) at the play calling which was going cost us the game, to rage as time was running out and the ball was snapped past JJ and recovered by UT, to disbelief as the penalty was called, to nervousness as we lined up for the untimed play, to disbelief/relief/numbness when we punched it in. I honestly felt no joy. I was completely wrung out.

The full gamut of emotions.

I had a totally strange mix of emotions...

in the last seconds of the game, I was seething with anger...had my nephew with us in the stands and it was just all I could do to keep from throwing a screaming fit...

when I found out we had an untimed play, I didn't really know what to feel, just stood there with a lump in my throat knowing that there was no chance in hell...

when we scored the touchdown, I was happy but that pretty quickly turned to a strange feeling of guilt....

finally, the next day, I realized that both teams were total clusterfricks and tenn just fricked up last, so they deserved to lose...

now, I relish that win as much as any other of the heart stopping wins les has subjected me to over the past few years...
