Last year the roster showed him at 6’6 231. This year it shows him at 6’5 197. How does he lose all that weight, and still fail the conditioning test?

Maybe it was all muscle and he reported looking like Manute Bol?

It sounds like a situation where he didn’t meet the minimum number of offseason workouts.

Failing to meet conditioning requirements is just coach speak for something else, such as failed a drug test.

Why do you believe that was his actual weight? If it is because it is in print, boy do you have a lot to learn about athletics!!!

Okay then. Coach speak for something other than failed drug test - you fill in the blank.

If you aren't conditioned well enough, you need extra practice, not less!

Maybe, but the suspension is the tool used by the coaches to incentivize the player to correct his behavior.

We’ll just assume that A. He actually lost 34 lbs, and B. He’s actually suspended for failing a conditioning test

You lose weight by skipping the ice cream and pizza once a week when you’re 6’5 and 20ish years old. You pass a conditioning test by training. You don’t have to work your arse off to lose weight in college if you’re athletic and have a fast metabolism

Anderson has been in the spotlight before for the wrong reasons, so there is no telling what he’s actually suspended for. Maybe it really is the conditioning test, at some places you can’t practice until you pass it. Maybe it’s some more severe.

We probably won’t know until some BR radio host accidentally lets it slip.

You are crazy if you believe conditioning is why he is out

Dee needs to have blood tests and X-Rays to check for an undiagnosed (or improperly healed) fracture that has caused a bone marrow infection.

Maybe this is a long shot, But I've seen this before in athletes with sudden extreme weight loss and extreme fatigue (workouts are next to impossible from fatigue related to this bone marrow issue)

When I played you had to meet a minimum number of summer workouts before you could participate in fall camp. Every year there was a guy or two that missed and they would have to do extra workouts before they could come back to the team.
