How Confident are you Joe Alleva Can Hire the Best Basketball Coach for LSU

Up Vote: Joe's our man, he was the AD at Duke for 10 years, one of the best college basketball programs in College Basketball. Joe Alleva continues to bring unprecedented national recognition to LSU as Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics. (2nd sentence taken from this LSU Bio) Men's Football and Women's basketball is now on the right track. Our men's baseball program is poised to win another NC.
Down Vote: Joe Alleva has been an embarrassment to LSU Athletics with how he's handled the football head coaching transition and men's basketball program. His signature basketball hire was Trent Johnson and he's now out of college basketball after being fired at TCU in 2016. Thank goodness Skip hired baseball Head Coach Paul Mainieri. Who would be our head football coach if Coach Orgeron had not been on our coaching staff? We need a new AD to make the next head basketball coaching hire.

Im not confident in his ability to do anything honestly.

You can leave out him having anything to do with Dukes basketball program. Coach K was already in place when Alleva took over as AD. He had nothing to do with Dukes basketball program.

Not saying he can take credit for anything basketball related at Duke. You would think being the AD there for so long he would have learned something that would have contributed to building up LSU basketball into a top 3 SEC basketball program.

I have no confidence he will hire the best. I have total confidence that whoever he hires will be better than Johnny Jones.

I want to downvote because your binary question misses the reality of the situation. Reality is somewhere in between.

Why? Duke basketball is on cruise control and K is the brains and face of it. Joe just counted the money.

On a scale of 1-10, I'd say -1000

I'd prefer him to ask TD what to do.

IIRC, when Duke hired Alleva as AD, K was among those who recommended that they hire that guy.

Depends on if Daddy Dale has input on it or not.

ZERO
He has fricked up essentially every big hire he's had to make.
-Whiffed on Trent Johnson (though to be fair, Johnson looked good on paper)
-Waited too long to get rid of Johnson (who actually left on his own), thus unnecessarily setting the program back
- Hired a basketball coach who no other power conf. school would even consider as a candidate to coach their programs
- Was at the center of a publicly failed coup to fire Miles after 2015 season. All it did was make Miles a lame duck coach going into 2016, and LSU look bad in the process
- Fired Miles 4 games into 2016 for unsurprisingly underachieving with a potential championship caliber team. Thus, basically wasting 2016
- Had a head start on the rest of the country in trying to secure the next football coach. It ultimately resulted in him hiring a guy no one else would even consider to be their HC before the CFB regular season even ended. Alleva rushed to hire a coach he could have hired TODAY if he wanted to.
- Refused to fire Jones after a complete failure of the 2015-2016 basketball season. Jones managed to do what probably 75% of CBB coaches couldn't, keep last year's team OUT of the NCAAT. His delay in action, yet again, created an unnecessary failure the next season.
His Duke tenure was also great! Apparently the ONLY thing he's ever done proactive is forcing the lacrosse coach to resign and canceling the season only to find out all those actions were taken in response to a complete lie. He also reportedly favored Karl Dorrell over David Cutcliffe in Duke's search for a football coach.
Alleva is completely and utterly useless.

Absolutely zero confidence. He had essentially nothing to do with Duke's basketball development. His Duke legacy is the way that he ruined the lives of several people with his destruction of the Duke lacrosse team over what turned out to be totally false accusations. In that, he showed no support whatsoever for the players and coach while taking the easy way out to take the heat off of his own self. Sound familiar? The POS never should have been hired here in the first place.

I'm 100% confident he'll do a horrible job as usual.

Not a single upvote...that's impressive

I'm not 100% sure he's going to fire jones.
