I really thought Jay was going to pull it off but it wasn’t in the cards. Having that dominant at bat in the lineup with Tanks, Trav, and Jones would do wonders for this team and even more than most realize. He’s batting .375 with 12 HR and an OBP of .509. That extra offense breeds confidence through the whole team. I really think this is a much different team if we could’ve landed him. It didn’t happen though so hopefully some of our guys turn it in and make this another fun year.

I feel like you answered your own question..

Absolutely would have made a big difference, that's one of the best travel ball names out there, and considering we're traveling to Arkansas this week

Would have made a world of difference in this lineup, it's missing production and power.

I remember when Kendall Rogers got upset we might land Montgomery and said we were tampering with kids not in portal yet. Then A&M led and he shut up about that

He would have been huge, along with Colby Shelton.

If Kling progressed like Jay and everyone on the Coaching staff expected then it wouldn't matter that we didn't get him. But with Kling struggling so much at the plate and looking lost it has really hurt this team offensively. They were counting on him to have a big season.

Could a, would a, should a. It's water under the bridge. It doesn't help anything now. The absence of one guy isn't the problem, it's the 9 on the field right now that's the problem.

He was always going to A&M due to his connection with his hitting coach and A&M staff. I don’t think he even visited any other schools, other than maybe a courtesy visit to State because it was close to home.

It’s crazy that he wouldn’t want to go to the defending champs with a bunch of available spots.
